If any of you Calgary peeps aren't too busy would you mind putting a muzzle on Mr. Magliocca for me? =OD
He'll do it himself T.
Stats always show that the vast number of biting incidents are carried out by Golden Labs, and when someone points that out to numbnuts here he'll back down.

Breed specific banning is absolutely moronic. Make the punishment substantial towards owners of dogs that bite. ALL dogs have the potential to bite but good owners know how to prevent it from happening, idiots don't.
The problem is a person or dog will survive a Chihuahua bite with a few punctures wounds but, I defy anyone to refute the fact that with a pit bull, Rottweiler or any large breed of dog that trauma will be significantly greater and the costs to fix them much higher.
So, it's not so much the fact that dogs bite but the fact that there are different degrees of damage done if, they do bite. Breed banning likely won't work but, muzzling your dog in public isn't an outrageous request especially if it's aggressive, has a history or is a high risk breed. Call it insurance for the owner and a public safety measure.
Unfortunately most of the time it's the owners who are most to blame but, any small breed dog running free or large breed dog on a leash being held by a person who can't control it has the potential for disaster.

I personally find the worst behaved dog owners are the "pocket rat" owners. Had one at the dog park that kept jumping at me and asking the owner to get control of their dog earned me the reply, "He's just playing".
With that being said I then called Sasha over and told her to jump and give sweetheart a kiss on the cheek. I told her "She's just playing".
I don't agree with muzzling due to the fact that your dog is now defenseless.

This is to protect people. Most importantly, little people who's tiny little soft faces are at the same altitude as your dog's teeth.
Who gives a fuck about your dog??
Defenseless against what?

So you are for muzzling all dogs. How about co-operating with someone who owns a dog and teaching your kids how to approach a dog and interact with a dog.
$1:
Who gives a fuck about your dog??
Who gives a fuck about your brats? I can play this game as well.
I give a fuck about my dog asshole, and she's better mannered than most people, including you.

Defenseless against what?
Other dogs owned by fucktards like you who don't train them and let them run amok giving all dog owners a bad name.

I am for muzzling all dogs.
I do not currently own a dog.
I am certainly for putting the well being of the neighborhood kids above that of your dog. There is no way to differentiate fucktard owners from owners like yourself. Owners that realize any dog can bite when surprised, regardless of history.

Then why not meet with a responsible dog owner and TEACH your kids how to act around dogs like I TAUGHT my dog to act around kids.
Just as an afterthought, every dog I have owned has been more behaved than 90% of the kids I see these days.

How does that address dogs owned by fucktards?

Well than maybe we should ban dogs then. After all even a large muzzled dog can severely injure a child.
I'm done here.

That's another way to go I guess.
I've always thought licensing dog owners would be a good idea. There's a test, training and the constant threat of losing your license if you aren't responsible.
You ignore a "no dogs" sign at a playground and you lose your ability to own a dog for example.

Would you then be in favor of removing a child from their parents when a kid plays in the street? Streets are not play grounds and thus not an area for children to be.

Don't think I can relate to somebody who puts any animal on equal ground with a child.
