Good thing this didnt make the news.
Shit happens, mostly when the guys see it they do the best they can to fix it.
So if everyone wants to try and focus on Alberta as an environmentally unfriendly province I will post hundreds of pics of people doing good things here for the environment and wildlife, people in the patch, mining, construction, pipeline, people risking their lives for the wildlife.
Lets see how the other provinces stack up against our strict enviro regs and due diligence and still get things done.
Alberta, the province the rest of Canada loves to hate, were used to it.
Hold on...
If they didn't build that trench to begin with, it seems to me the poor moose would not be stuck..
So in short the influence of man, no matter where or what Province is damaging to the environment. Right Ziggy
I mean we can not always be there to save the animals from mankinds industrial foot print 24/7.
Nice pic..
You could allways heat with wood and they wouldnt have to lay that pipe.
What would you rather choose? Woods not as enviro friendly as nat gas.
Or you could just go move to the bush and live in a lean to,then we wouldnt have to lay all that pipe so guys like you can have a hot shower after a hard day behind the wheel of that semi.
ziggy ziggy:
Delicate vegetation means no tire tracks so this is what we use in Alberta,I wonder what other provinces do this? Non that I have worked in other then here.

LOL now that is funny.
Environmental law prohibits ruts on the lease where we drill.
Isn't it funny to what lengths the oil industry will go to the build a gas or oil rig.
Looks like about 140 trees that have been cut down to build that road. After they leave the lease... I wonder what happens to all those planks.. we both know.

I could always heat with
Geothermal Heating and light my house or heat my hot water after those hard days
at the office with
Solar Power or
Wind Energy.

If the gov't and people would start buying into alternative fuel or energy, the prices will come down and be more affordable for everyone.

Show's how much you know about it,there's no tree's on the prarie Tritium. The pallets were layed down to protect native grasses.
And it's "non disturbance sites" "minimul disturbance sites" and the rest are partial builds or full builds. With a good guy on reclamation you wont even know there was a pipeline layed there 2 weeks after seeding it.
And it's not the oil industry but the gas industry,Alberta's biggest export.
Get your shit right dude!
ziggy @ Sat May 03, 2008 2:25 pm
Notice the stakes on the ROW Tritium?
See how much they didnt use?
You ever go back to driving water truck for the rigs and have a chance to work in southern Alberta then this is what you will be driving on.

I’ll back you up on the prairie grass thing Zig. I was sent down to Rosebud with 3 other grader guys with 4 16 G’s to strip a gas pipeline right of way, late in the fall. The idea was to get it stripped before there was to much frost in the ground and then they could finish this line around Christmas time, and bring about 2 dozen wells into production. The last ¼ mile was across native grass land, when we got to the fence line here’s the girl that’s working for Alberta Environment with her truck parked, cross ways, across the right of way. She was waiting for a call from her boss about allowing us to go ahead. I’m thinking gezzz you just let us go through some good farm land and now your stopping us from finishing in this waste land. You look at it and there’s a tuff of grass every 12”or so, with what looked like to me, to just be clay as top soil, as far as I was concerned it didn’t even need to be stripped. We’re sitting there waiting, when we see her talking on the phone, she throughs on her hard hat and came out and said that’s it for this year guys, you can’t go any farther because she doesn’t think this native grass will survive. That was that. I was surprised that nobody with the company even argued with her about it.
Woooh!! Take it easy Zig.

First off those pallets are made of wood, wood comes from trees zig. Just in case you were not aware of that fact.
The statement was, it looks like they used 140 trees to build all those pallets in their attempt to be environmentally friendly.Sorta an Oxymoron.

Don't recall arguing this point, I think I agreed. Zero disturbance lease. All I said was what happens to all the wood used in building those planks.
Yes, I agree, in some cases you "hardly" notice they drilled or lay pipe.

Yes, around Medicine Hat and Sask is it Gas industry and up north oil. What was your point again??
My shit is straight, no need to be insulting thanks. I have been respectful to you as a member..
I think your work is very cool, you live the adventure most would love to experience.

Truckers
What can I say?
Only thing I hate worse then dealing with truckers is dealing with noob engineers.
Carry on.

Yeah i bet you have a pet rock---if you are old enough which I doubt. Sucker for every fad and insanity. Socialism has had a real gallery of the most evil people in recent history.....Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mussulini, Pol Pot, Kim Il Sung.......

At least with most engineers you can talk some sense into them. With a trucker, once their in a rut, their always in the rut.

Well I guess that is because you are getting these truckers that are straight out of school and have no expreience.
The experience they get is at "your" expense.

no surprise comment from the baby who had to leave Alberta

what has Texas done to ween itself off oil

Do you see my sig?? I am where my sig says. If I am in Alberta, it will show Calgary, if I am in Texas, it will show Dallas.
I fly back and forth on a bi-monthly basis, I guess I didn't leave Alberta as I still have a home here too.. fucktard.
Research "Savanna Energy" mtbr. Later, buddy.

Funny... on a thread that just got locked you said you never fly
