Canadian
SON OF A BITCH!
This is getting rediculous! Has Canuck troops even killed a Yank yet in these "friendly fire"a ttacks? I hope not. How many of ours have the Yanks killed? A good 10 or more, by now. Probably much higher.
Now I'm pissed off.
The USA didn`t do it on purpose.

But they've done it "accidentally" a totally UNACCEPTABLE amount of times.
Has a Canadian Soldier killed a SINGLE Ally troop? (Not using this as an argument, i am honestly unsure)
How many have the Yanks killed?
Unacceptable.
It's not intentional, and if it's any consolation they kill far more of their own in friendly fire incidents than any other nationality because they are more numerous and conduct more operations.
It's dark, people are shooting, people are pumped up on adrenaline, there's a lack of sleep, and bad shit happens. This may sound like an over simplification, but it's the truth. This is how hunting accidents happen too.
At 15, I highly doubt you've been placed in a situation even remotely like those faced by the individuals you are complaining about. And yes this is about your age and experience.

They've even killed their own? I heard about one incident when that happened with a Canadian soldier, but... Honestly.

That reminds me of Dick Cheney.
"I'm sorry for the problems I've caused Dick Cheney..."
Okay.
But how have Canadian Soldiers been able to be pretty much immune to this?
Better training?

And how have Canadian Soldiers been able to not cause Friendly Fire incidents?

Not that I know of, but I know of two of our own for sure that have been killed by OUR friendly fire. When are people gonna wise and realise that this is COMBAT. The total from US fire is 5 and at least those were mistakes at 400 knots in jets. Ours were up close and personal with the rifle. Welcome to the real world.
1) Way, I mean WAY more American troops than Canadians, higher ratio.
2) Americans have more tactical and eventful missions.
Its simple. More American soldiers than Can. soldiers... therefore your arfument is week to nill.

It was two? Damnit. I heard of one of them...
5? That doesn't add up...
let's see, there was that time they bombed us... That's 4. That time they shot us up thinking we were the Taliban, that's 1 (30 more injured), So that's 5.
...
Hmm... That's all i can recall. So maybe it does add up...
I must have been thinking about all the Friendly Fire Incidents...
They've Bombed us twice (the second time was very lucky for the troops, I don't think anyone even got injured) Shot at our vehicles...
How about total casualties? They've injured more then 40. 32 in one incident too.

....what does numbers have to do with yankees murdering Canadians in combat?

one of those Canadian friendly fire incidents was from a green troop not clearing his weapon properly, instead of disengaging his magazine before working the bolt, he worked the bolt to discharge the round in the chamber with the mag in the weapon, therefore chambering another round, to ensure the weapon is clear and to release the firing pin, a depression of the trigger is required....why the fuck he pointed his weapon at the back of the head of his fellow soldier can only be answered by him.
I think it's more than five...weren't there like 5 Canadians killed during the first few months of Afghanistan, when the yankees dropped a 5000 lb bomb on our training facility?
there was a while there when friendly fire deaths outnumbered enemy action deaths for Canadians?
fucking yankees

the article that i read, it was a Canadian Sargent (i think) that realized the special forces machine gunner was firing at Canadian troops, he made the gunner aware, he changed his angle of fire, right into the american troops manning the fire step....
.....american troops best in the world.....that is insulting and disturbing...
I can't even begin to express my condolences for the Canadian trooper who died, but do forgive me that while everyone here focuses on the Canadian who perished there was also an American who perished in the same incident.
And I guarantee you the clod who did this regrets both deaths and, given personal past experience, you can expect him to execute himself within the year.
Not that this is any consolation, of course, but it does seem that some of you want blood. Perhaps this will sate your thirst.

It was an American Sgt that realized the mistake.
I think it was a 500 lb bomb dropped on the boys in 3 PPCLI back on 01? It killed 4 troops.
This is just my opinion but ... I don't think these incidents have that much to do with training (it helps though). I think it has more to do with either their willingness to fire first (ask questions later) or maybe their ROEs. I don't know what their ROEs were so I can't comment though.
To the person who said Americans do more dangerous missions in A-stan ... That is flat out just not true. If anything i'd call it equally dangerous. From my experience it seemed we were doing a larger portion of dangerous missions while there... But that's from my point of view and maybe because we had the LAV3s there (and arty and eventually tanks) where they had ... Hummers (and air support ... which they lent us).
The Brits were also in a lot of shitty situations ... A lot. I don't hear about to many of their blue on blue situations. But i'm not British so I don't pay attention

You are right on all accounts.
At the time of the shooting the Americans there had been undermanned and had been shot at every night for weeks. It's not an excuse but I can see how it could happen. Excuses and/or blame won't bring him back.
