1200 fewer Liberal cheer leaders would be bad news for Iggy.

Instead of acting like a responsible company, what they'll do is cut the most popular and visible then scream bloody murder.. all while their top hacks jet off to another black tie dinner .

You sure you're not talking about GM or Chrysler...

.. except those other companies don't have their fingers on the eyes and ears of the Canadian population.

No, but they're in our wallets just like the CBC. At least the CBC delivers news and Canadian made TV, instead of poorly-made gas guzzlers, for the money we pay. Lord knows if they didn't have to, CTV and global wouldn't show any Canadian programming.

How do you know? The only good Canadian show on tv comes from CTV.

Why not just kill it out right, 1 billion back into our pocket.

Past history...CTV and Global have always relied heavily on American programming. Yes, CTV has a hit with Corner Gas, but without CanCon rules, that show probably never would have been made. The other networks have long chafed at having to show Canadian made TV shows.

Without CanCon rules we might have a lot less successful bands and the CFL might be an entirely American populated sport.

I love all the bullshit, wannabe-from-the-hip comments some of you guys come up with about the CBC. Sure, the CBC's all Liberal'd up the whazoo. Keep spewing the same crap over and over and over again. It's all bitch 'n whine, whine 'n bitch about the one network that has to live up to the mandate of showing Canada to Canadians, not import 90% of their programming and simulcast.

Is CKA supposed to stand for Canada Kicks Ass? Or is it really a case of you being ironic because you're Yank wannabes? For the record, I've worked for CanWest, CTVGlobeMedia and the CBC and guess which two are the biggest clusterfucks in the media business? Guess what? It doesn't include the CBC.

I find it astonishing that you guys spew the CanWest/CTVGlobeMedia rulez koolaid. Honestly, Lenny Asper's an idiot for the huge over-leveraging he did to get AllianceAtlantis and it's even money whether they'll have to go into bankruptcy protection. Ivan Fecan's hardly better over at CTV.

If you really just wanna inhale U.S. programming 24/7, be honest about it. Why bother supporting Canadian-produced anything? Ditch yer Blackberrys. Get an iPhone. Drink Labatt's or Molson, not anything Canadian-owned. Buy from Walmart. Go big and go south!

If you aren't part of the solution, you're part of the problem.
