Canadian
CBC doesn't stand for the "Chinese Broadcasting Company".
You tools are supposed to serve CANADA, not CHINA!
How many Chinese Canadians does it take to equal one Chinese diplomat?
Others have noticed also:

The government should just stop all federal funding to the CBC right now, I don't want one more red cent of my tax dollars funding these spineless chumps.
The new head of the CBC is a good start----the LIBRANOs are whinning which is a good sign.
Now they will whine about their LIBRANO moles being purged..........
About time.
Cowardice. That's what it is, sheer cowardice.
Was there ever any real doubt about which side of the political spectrum the CBC stood? One word from a real communist and they started whimpering like a gutshot dogs.
Their so called unbiased reporting has proven to be a complete falacy, maybe we should rename the whole network TBC, for the TASS Broadcasting Corporation.
Disgusting.

I was wondering myself, if the doc hasn't aired, how do Chinese officials know what it contains in order to have issues with it's content?
Gosh..... I wonder why nobody is screaming for Verner to get the sack?....
This is pretty sad.
It's a documentary, who cares if it's controversial?
Farenheit 9/11 wasn't controversial?
In a country which stands for freedom and rights how dare the CBC cower to China, shame on you. Is China not the country that would much rather sell poisonous toys to children (while using children in sweat shops and god knows how many other illegal plants) and continue to do so regardless of how many incidents we've had or they have that we don't hear about. But they'd rather come here illegally and force their views on a meditation practice that is being conducted here?
It's a shame that the people who escaped the PRC's regime only to seek freedom, get spied on here for simply meditating.
I could go on but it would only turn into a rant where I would have to mention the fact that we are aloud to say the words "freedom" and "democracy" among may other taboos. Yikes China might spy on me then too.
Guess I shouldn't be choosing China for a vacation place, eh.

CBC says China didn't sway decision on doc
Film purporting to show persecution of sect in China yanked from schedule suddenly

CBC-TV denies it suddenly dumped a controversial new documentary on China's Falun Gong movement because of pressure from the Chinese government.
Heavily promoted Beyond the Red Wall: The Persecution of Falun Gong was made by respected Toronto producer Peter Rowe.
"I first heard of (the cancellation) at 5:30 Tuesday," an upset Rowe told the Star yesterday. "A woman from CBC phoned and said CBC was pulling it from Newsworld for a rerun of a biography of Pakistani president Perez Musharraf. I was told my program would run later after some editing."
Beyond the Red Wall was to have aired Tuesday night as part of Newsworld's documentary series, The Lens.
CBC spokesperson Jeff Keay said CBC received calls from the Chinese embassy in Ottawa and from the consulate in Toronto. Calls from the Star to the Chinese embassy went unanswered.
Followers of the Falun Gong movement in Canada later contacted the CBC to protest the Chinese government's objections.
"We want to ... make sure it's an absolutely rigorous piece of work because it's become clear over the past 24 to 36 hours that there's a lot of interest in the thing," said Keay. "We want to make sure it's a solid piece of work that will stand up to intense scrutiny."
He added that CBC intends to air it after completing a review.
Keay told the Star the situation in Pakistan is so volatile the decision was made at the last minute to rerun the Musharraf profile.
At the same time, CBC wanted time to get together with Rowe and make certain changes in his film.
Rowe, who has made such shows as Popcorn With Maple Syrup for CBC and currently produces Angry Planet for OLN, said he spent almost three years on the project as well as responding to "numerous editing requests from CBC. CBC took delivery in March and signed for it – they paid off the contract."
He said there was an unpublicized 4 a.m. screening of the documentary on CBC in March as a budgetary manoeuvre. "It has already run to some praise on Radio-Canada."
Rowe says if CBC plans to re-edit the show, they will have to do it without him. "I'm off to Australia and other places for my other show. I'm just surprised Canadians can't see the real version already seen in Quebec and other countries."
Joel Chipkar from the Falun Dafa Association of Canada said his members were shocked at the cancellation and claimed the Chinese government has a campaign of intimidation against CBC.
CBC, which will cover the Beijing Olympics next year, ran a six-hour documentary in 2006 on the "new China" called China Rising. It contained no references to the Chinese government's treatment of Falun Gong.
The CBC won't run this because it needs some more work, after 3 years, numerous edits, and being signed and paid for, but Pakistan is also suddenly more important. Bullshit.
