GET RID OF IT!

Privatize the thing, the government should have no "state" official broadcaster. And considering all the inappropriate connections with the Liberal party I think it is high time to dunp it.

It would tend to substantiate concerns that there is a hidden agenda for public broadcasting," he said.

Well I suppose that counteracts the not so hidden Liberal agenda of the CBC.

Cut the CBC loose and put our tax money to better use...

If the Cons kill the CBC, who are they gonna Scapegoat their failures on next?

Liberal Party's domination of Governing. Mulroney. There's 2 right there.

CBC governance is also a big issue, with the NDP pushing for reforms of the existing system in which CBC's board of directors and president are appointed directly by the federal government of the day -- not necessarily on merit.

And then there is the swivellel service----

devinhallsworth @ Tue Feb 19, 2008 11:38 am

Heres my question. Why does the CBC deserve funding in the first place?

I hate to break it to people but north america is pretty much all the same culture.

And history is not culture. I know we have a lot to be proud of in our countrys history but that needs to be taught in schools because I HIGHLY doubt that your average highschool student is spending all that much time watching cbc.

Personally I just want to see the CBC fall or succeed based solely on its own merits not live on eternally like some zombie off government handouts.

devinhallsworth @ Tue Feb 19, 2008 11:42 am

Also little house on the prarie insults my intelligence. I seriously cant stand shows that exist to tell me to 'be tolerant of other cultures' ESPECIALLY not when this show never addresses any topics of any actual importance to anyone like sharia law in canada.

Hate to break it to you, but you are wrong.

Honestly, what the hell does 'canadian culture' even mean?

It is: the Culture of Canadians. What more do you want to know?

...

That seems to be the extent of it I guess.
