Venezuela Oil - Exports to the USA exceeds: 2.1 million bbl/day.

Hugo Chavez will now have sole control over all that oil and with his new friendship with Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who knows what will happen?

Could you imagine a nuclear bomb off the shores of the United States in the hands of a terrorist sympathizer. 8O

The USA almost had a world war over the Bay of Pigs.

In your backyard.

Iran needs a more strategic location to attack the USA from, and Venezuela is perfect.

you're dreaming.
why would Iranian or Venezuelan governments ever attack the US mainland?

Why use IRBMs when Iran could just ship them via container ship and get them into the States through the very porous Customs/DHS net? With the US checking less than 10% of all containers that enter the country, it'd be far easier to do and much harder to detect than missiles based in Venezuala.

And that presupposes that Iran would be stupid enough to attack the US with nukes. Afterwards, Iran would become a radioactive crater...

Why did Russia and the United States never go to war. They both had a strategic deterrent against each other.

To place missiles so close to the United States, in Venezuala, is just to get a strategic deterrent against the United States attacking Iran.

Now if Iran develops Nuclear weapons or already has? As everyone seems to point out, the USA was wrong about Iraq's WMD's, could they also be wrong about Iran's nuclear program.

They were saying North Korea would take years before they have a nuke, then they tested one to everyone astonishment.

Who's to really say how far along or how developed Irans nuclear ambitions already are?

Chavez backs Iran's nuclear goals [?]

They voted for the guy. I can't really feel bad for them. It'll be the same situation like when the North Koreans realized they made a huge mistake in supporting Communism. They'll realize giving him decree power, unlimited elections, shutting down opposition media, and nationalize the country is a bad idea.

The guy is bribing the poor, buying votes, and nothing less.

Admiringly, he has done much for the poor of his nation, however I fear when he has total control of the countries resources, he will not be so generous.

I hope all the Chavez-lovers that praised his speech at the UN are proud of their "Jesus".
