The situation has drawn criticism from psychologists who say four is too young to start gender transition.

They maintain pre-school children are still at a very early stage of their development for such a major decision to be made.

Yet the New South Wales Department of Education has rolled out a support package for the toddler, who is not due to start kindergarten until next year.

The shock development comes amid an explosion in the number of young children of both sexes considering sex changes."

In a sane world these crazy assholes would be locked away from the normal people.

Maybe wait another decade until making this kind of major life decision? This is too young.

   

There is absolutely no way that this should be happening to children who are not even close to reaching puberty yet, never mind being so far away from adulthood where a decision like this can be made with proper consideration.

WTF is going on?

   

I don't give a shit what people think but, this is unquestionably a form of sexual assault and the parents, teachers and gov't should be held accountable for their actions in this gender rape.

We as a society take pride in trying to protect our children from predators like paedophiles but, apparently have no problem turning them over to these animals for brainwashing.

Disgusting is the most polite word I can think of to describe this abhorrent practice.

   

It's ridiculous. This kids whole identity is going to be screwed up for life based on behaviour displayed at age 4.

I've read this about 3 times and every time I catch myself thinking "Isn't this some sick shit that Dr. Mandela would have done and probably did do during WWII"

   

I think the ultimate goal is to allow people to transition back and fourth as they wish.

Boy till 4, girl till 12, boy till 16, girl till 25, etc.


Conjecture aside, I'm glad we can all agree this is despicable. That said, at what age is it too young?

The only possible justification I could imagine would be if the child was born with hermaphrodidic features in which case it wouldn't necessarily be reassignment but rather choosing one direction or another. I would think doing this earlier could have some benefits since the child would be able to identify better with their peers. It might still make sense to wait until puberty but there is definitely an argument for both sides. I would imagine going through school "in between" could be traumatizing. Kids can be cruel.
