Child found chopped to pieces in mother's deep freeze.
No, not really. There's no gruesome story here.
Are you disappointed? Were your fingers all prepared to type out some empty threat against the mother? Were you for some reason interested in hearing about this story?
This thread is for me - I'm trying to understand what compels people to
a) post these awful stories on Canadaka about children being violently raped, burnt, stabbed, etc.
b) write all the similarly awful, violent things you'd supposedly do to the guilty person
c) attack anyone who makes a comment that doesn't involve said violence
because I sure as hell can't figure it out myself.
If you're one of those people I've described above - and you probably are if you clicked this link - please explain how you've benefited from reading and frothing at the mouth over these awful stories, or how Canadaka is better off with having these discussions on a regular basis.
If that sort of thing is happening in the region I live in, I'll hear about it and take whatever necessary action myself. That's about the only reason I can think of for needing to hear about it, as I have never seen anything productive come of these threads or news links.
Fire away.
You must be busy this afternoon
I'm relieved. I was thinking, "good god, what's up today with all these awful stories" after the microwave one and clicked to read about the circumstances of the incident. It's just morbid curiosity for me, wondering what could possibly compel a person to commit such heinous acts.

Oh.. Kay...

Not, just wondering what it's about then.

No, I was planning on reading the story and possibly making an ass of myself with a rude comment.

Okay.

To bring all news to Canadakians, even the gruesome?

Mental revenge, basically. Eye for an eye is a view held by many.

I haven't seen that.

It's a strange world.

Because it's NEWS.
I wouldn't be reading it if the point wasn't to update me on what's happening in the world! I first learned about Virginia Tech on CKA. I possibly may not have learned about it until a week alter if I wasn't provided with current events.
Reading these stories benefit me by keeping me up to date with what's going on in the world (especially Canada).

It's people showing how they are upset about the situation.

I haven't seen that.
You're kidding, right?
Um, no, I'm not.
Can you provide an example, I haven't seen a clean example of it. I've seen twisted variations of it, I guess, but all I've seen it happen is when both sides are being arrogant rude fucktards.

Everyone knows I'm against the death penalty, so I've been repeatedly accused of caring more for the perp than for the victims of violence.
Always stand up for what you believe in even if you have to walk that road alone.
The reason why people read these stories is so that they can feel better about their own perceived screwed up lives. They then make a moral snap judgment on how the perp should be dealt with (both sides of the coin) without full info and knowledge of the facts. Then again we will never have the full facts of any case. We will then begin a huge debate over who is right and who is wrong in their snap decision on how to handle said case. With the loser's portraying them selfs as a martyr of some sort trying to come off as holier then though.
When I clicked on this I truly had no intention of reading the artical but to only read what people were responding with. Though I will admit that I was thinking hmmm thats F'ed up for a mother to do, she must be psycho, and why have I not seen this on some other sites I scan over like I did for the girl being stoned to death and the guy microwaving his lil girl.
As for the one on the stoning to death the whole time I was thinking hmm suni or sheite and then bang it was a Kurd. That threw me for a minor loop when I always thought of the Kurds as being a cut above other most middle eastern types.
So there you have it and more. We come to these type of articals for a boost to our own fragile egos and then to expound on our own moral values and how to deal with those that break the laws that society has in place. Though sometimes IF we are not careful we can actually learn something new that makes us rethink our views on people, places and cultures.
Great post stratos... very honest.

I was merely going to say that in this day and age to chop up a child borders on barbaric when we have such a proliferation of food processors that would make mincing a child a far better use of time.

I'm still curious to know why people find such glee in the idea of dropping nuclear weapons on any country.
Speaking only for myself, I don't want to drop nuclear weapons on just
any country. I did have a few
specific countries in mind, though.

Morbid appetite = Human Nature ...its really that simple . Curiosity is going to make people watch all those videos or read the articles I also think the reasons for commenting are as perplex as human beings can be .
