"Push your fat ass away from the feeding trough, exercise and stop eating crap" is proven effective, however.

Sad part is, it's preventable and people won't take my advice even though I got it.

Wish my father-in-law had your attitude. He won't exercise at all and even thinks walking is boring so he won't do it......... he's 74 and has had it for about 22 years. Worst diabetic there is who still has his sight and limbs.

The latest advice is to drink 4 cups a day for not just diabetes but Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. Red meat is now good for you in the low carb diets. Saturated fats are not the demon they once were. We only need somebody to find the health benefits of smoking and we'll all be finally hailing Woody Allen for the visionary he really is. Until the next cycle of what's good and what's bad starts all over.

Sad, isn't it? We have to be half blind, have a leg amputated and be on kidney dialysis 4 hours, 3 days a week before we realize it was a very simple disease not to get.

Stop with the useless carbs, and go for a freaking walk! It's how your body evolved! Do it!

The common cold, everyone gets one. AIDS, HepC, Diabetes - you have to really 'try' hard to get it. Unless your family is prone to it, like me. Even then, it's preventable.

And I drank 2 pots of coffee a day. It won't do jack squat for you. Especially if you sugar it like I did.

Not if they exercise and don't eat crap.

Filtered coffee, but not instant, defended against Type 2 diabetes whether it was sweetened with sugar or not. Black coffee, but not coffee with milk, was also associated with protection from the disease. (Milk is thought to inactivate some of coffee’s protective compounds.) Note that “one cup” of coffee in this study, defined as 125 ml (1/2 cup), is a considerably smaller serving than what’s poured in coffee shops. A Starbuck’s grande, for instance, serves up 16 ounces or 473 ml.

Interesting. Oh well, it's a moot point for me. I hate coffee and prefer tea, which apparently does absolutely nothing in this particular study.
