Just so you all know, this is not a new policy. This happens all the time when members cannot perform their duties in a field unit or sea going unit. It has nothing to do with disability payments. They are talking about their Land Duty Allowances/SOF Allowances. Fucking bullshit sensationalist headline.
Just to reiterate. If a member is injured, they DO NOT lose their allowance until after the 180 day mark. As soon as they are fit and able to return to full duty, their allowances are reinstated.

   

A little off topic, but these payments wouldn't of had to be made if your idiot Cons didn't abuse the rights of a Canadian citizen.

You're right about the compensation part. It's based on a persons ability to serve in a specific environment and when you can't do that you lose that pay. Ships crews in refit lose their sea pay after 6 months so why should any other serviceman be different. You can't do your job you don't collect that environmental pay, it's as simple as that. Combat pay, sea pay or flying pay were never designed to be a permanent part of a sailor, soldier or airman's pay it was specifically designed to augment peoples income for doing the extra work these environments required.

Now as for your claim it was the Con's who abused poor fucking Omar well, allow me to point out that Omar Khadr was transfered to Guantanamo Bay in 2002. So, it was under the Liberal's watch that he started being abused and if the Liberals had felt such a great need to ensure his safety and security they would have done something about it anytime between 2002 and February 2006 but hey, it's always the Conservatives fault.
