Controversy Over LAPD Arrest Video
Activist groups and the LA media are rubbing their hands with glee as a new video of a violent arrest involving LAPD is making the rounds.
Comparisons are being drawn to the 1991 Rodney King video.

Personally, I don't see that those officers have done anything wrong. This guy's a shitbag gangbanger who is obviously resisting. In an effort to make the guy comply, an officer gave him a couple shots to the head. Suck it up.
I get a laugh out of these thugs who spend their lives beating, killing and robbing others, then cry like babies when a cop gives them back a slight taste of their own medicine.
If he can't breathe...how is he talking? Cops just don't randomly arrest people, maybe this video should have started earlier, when he was stealing that car or beating his wife. When a cop throws you to the ground (note there was two so obviously he didn't go down easy) there's a reason. Fucking douchebag is lucky he only got a few shots to the head.
Did you watch the damn video? The only thing it shows him resisting is getting punched in the face.
Also, if you looked around and tried to find out the story behind this video instead of just being a "He's not white so he must be a gangbanger" racist asshat you'd know that the crime he was getting the beating for was Failure to Appear.

Actually the video only shows him getting hit in the face, it doesn't show what may or may not have happened to instigate this. If his crime was failure to appear, I guess next time he won't make that mistake.
I'd reckon in the first 5 minutes they cut out you'd see this upstanding citizen fighting with the officers so I'll reserve my critique of the officers ROEs until the censors show me the whole story.
Tough job being a cop in the LAPD so without any real evidence I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Just happened to be black. Wasn't because the cops were racist, they just hate gangbangers. As for the above piece of shit, maybe next time he'll show up when he's supposed to.

Maybe the cop laying the manual attitude adjustment on the POS, was the original arresting officer. Could be that he'd pulled a double shift, went to court on his day off only to have this asshole be a no show. As a result, he missed his kid's birthday, got chewed out by his wife for missing it and has slept on a lumpy sofa for the last three nights. This aggravated his back and so in the end it wasn't his fault. If the criminals can claim being victims, why not the cops?

Firstly, he is a gangbanger. If you watch the news story accompanying the link it clearly points out that the charge that he failed to appear for was for possessing a stolen handgun. His own sister then admits that he does associate with a number of known gang members, while denying that he's a gang member himself (yeah right.)
Secondly, he's not getting a "beating" for failing to appear. He's getting punched because he's resisting the officer's attempts to handcuff him after leading them on a foot pursuit in a bad part of town.
Third, the term "racist" is meaningless in today's world because people like you throw it out against anyone who disagrees with you.

He's resisting to try to get a knee off of his neck.

Cops just don't randomly arrest people
Then how come the original charges were dropped?

Because criminals face charges and jail time when they break the law. When cops do it, they don't get squat so long as it isn't caught on tape. And even then its doubtful.

All that planting of evidence, snorting cocaine from the evidence locker, corruption, and looking the other way, yeah its a real tough job alright.

He could have avoided that if he hadn't run in the first place. I've never heard of a case where cops just pounded someone who was compliant and respectful.
Besides, if you read the article, a judge looked over the tape during the guy's trial and found no wrongdoing on the part of the officers.
I'll take his assessment of it over yours any day of the week.

I don't think they were. But regardless, charges are stayed, withdrawn or rejected at court every day. It has nothing to do with cops "randomly arresting people." It has everything to do with process, technicalities, and plea bargaining in an overloaded system.

Nice editing, nuff said....
In the end do what the police tell you to do even if you dont agree with it, If you dont you get what this guy got. People with brains know if they have a valid complaint they can tell it to the judge.

I have, seen it video taped on a police stations cameras where a police officer refused to give a calm, peaceful person a form to file a complaint, then slammed him into the glass and claimed that 'he was attacked, and the guy slammed himself into the glass' And the cops in the police station went along with it.

Because we all know the judges in california aren't in bed with the cops.

Or lack of evidence...
