He also probably has more guts/balls than the majority of Swedish men in that lecture hall did. 8)

Maybe they're both.

Anyway, doubt if Harper would go for it. He wants immigrants, has ramped up immigration to new highs. He may not be sympathetic to Muslims, but he sure isn't going to want other prospective immigrants asking themselves if they're next on the list. And they seem to be wanted. Prince George went so far as to build a mosque to attract Muslim immigrants - specifically doctors.

Plus, the attacks and plotted attacks involved mostly homegrown dingbats. So it would really be closing the barn door and all. They're here, they hate queers, get used to it.

There is no reason why we should have to get used to people attacking us over our beliefs and expressions.

I'm with Pam.

Combat attacks on free speech with more free speech.

I'm surprised they're not giving out sweets.

Nope, but we do have to accept they are already among us. Instead of worrying about immigrants, we have to worry about our own citizens.

Zipperfish @ Mon Feb 16, 2015 9:30 pm

Or not worry at all.

andyt @ Mon Feb 16, 2015 10:55 pm

You are a crackpot if you mean that the way it sounds. Of course we should worry, and that worry, as it is doing, should spur us to take reasonable action. What we shouldn't do is completely freak out about it, give in to the FD's of the world.

Unless you're a conservative, Christian, or a gun owner.

I only hope the world stops listening to assholes like yourself who endlessly defend anyone who attacks our civilization.

Before this civilization can defend itself from the moslems the first thing we'll need to do is to purge ourselves of the traitors in our midst who will eagerly sell us out to our enemies.

And make no mistake, I'm talking about people like you.

Woohoo. Still crazy after all these years. I ain't worried. Lots of Muslims in my neighbourhood too. Iranians though--not really the crazy ones. They just want to settle down, get their kids into medical school. A little clique-y perhaps, but their women are hot and they haven't beheaded anyone in the neighbourhood yet.

We've got a lot of pre-1979 Iranians in California and many of them are now Christians (and they probably were all along). One of them came out of the closet as being Jewish and he's doing great!

Yet apparently I'm the traitor for saying we should worry but not overdo it.

So what, you've got Muslims in your neighborhood. Even if some of them support terrorism, the Shia don't seem to be interested in attacking us here. How does that translate into not worrying for the whole country? We've seen the attacks and the plots that would have wreaked even greater carnage. Not to worry at all - I guess you can afford to do that in smugville.

Zipperfish @ Tue Feb 17, 2015 9:54 am

It's Smugsville actually.

And domestic security has managed the threats quite nicely up to now. There are other more pressing threats in my opinion.

Such as Andy von Quisling.
