fucking savages. the cops need to come down on these people for shit like this.

martin14 @ Mon Jul 06, 2009 1:18 am

maybe the people had a reason...

rob547 @ Mon Jul 06, 2009 2:41 am

There is no excuse for these people behaving that way. Police officers and ambulance staff were tring to help the victim. They need to think if it was their friend or relative lying there who could not be helped due to the mindless actions of these idiots. How would they feel? :x

EyeBrock @ Mon Jul 06, 2009 6:44 am

I think that the Montreal Police need to work on rebuilding community relations. The bad feelings between them and the people they serve are well known.

$1:
The victim is expected to survive.

Murder victim? :?

the stupidity and depths of scum people will dive to will never fail to amaze, shock, and sadden me. As far as I'm concerned, every idiot who threw a rock should be charged with party to the offence of attempted murder.....no not because they threw rocks at emergency personnel, because they made them stop working on a severely injured person.

what more can I say than WHAT THE F*CK!!!!!!!!!! if you f*cking have beef with the police, because in your own pathetic world they have 'wronged you', then take a swing at them on the street.....give them a hard time during a traffic stop (both scenarios I highly discourage as you WILL LOOSE  ). Do NOT put an innocent persons life in jeopardy because you don't like the police.

It's shit like this that makes me sad that I am half french.

One time in the UK (deepest Manchester), we had just cleared out a rasta house party and the street was kinda full of losers who wanted to fight us. A chick began to have seizure and we ran to help.
The nice 'citizens' thought we were beating her up and we had a full scale riot on our hands.

When a community hates the police there will be further conflict. Montreal cops need to work on their public image a bit.

Firstly will say what those people did was way over the line, someone needed help and they stood in the way...very not cool.

However, I read the article and there was no real information at all. Something had to of happened for the cops to be pelted. What was the fight over? Were these all church goers who were throwing the rocks? Does anyone know the whole story? Because there is more to it than just people pelting police, and if there wasn't you would expect to see this more often in Montreal, which we don't.

I agree, bad reporting with only a portion of the information. I'm guessing this maybe a Hatian crowd who have a very rocky relationship with Service de police de la Ville de Montréal.

They are not very nice to anybody these days. I haven't had great experiences in my dealings with these guys so I can just imagine what they are like with the public.

In the States there is a Crime with Interference of a Police Officer on Duty, I'm sure Canada must have similar laws. When you have a dangerous situation and somebody's life is at stake then stay out of their way. There may be a situation that looks tame, but can turn violent in the blink of an eye and somebody gets hurts.

What a stupid jackass thing to do. If somebody thinks something is wrong report it to higher police authority, but don't do something so completely idiotic. The police should jump on this with both feet.

Green, the Police have to be careful. As Sir Bob Peel said :

$1:
The ability of the police to perform their duties is dependent upon public approval of police actions.

Police must secure the willing co-operation of the public in voluntary observance of the law to be able to secure and maintain the respect of the public.

The degree of co-operation of the public that can be secured diminishes proportionately to the necessity of the use of physical force.

It doesn't look like this is going on in Montreal at the moment.

There is obviously more information that is either unknown or just left out of this vague and almost pointless story... :?
