Just another reason to avoid Castro's Communist 'paradise'...

Who cares what the UN, Cuba or Iran thinks.

Arctic_Menace @ Fri Nov 24, 2006 12:29 pm

Iran can shove it, I'd still visit Cuba any day of the week, and could they please elaborate on how we treat FOB's? ALso, the natives are more than capable of changing their situation, they just choose not to.

Over half a million Canadians prop up the tyrant Fidel Castro by vacationing in Cuba each year.
These people should be ashamed of themselves, hang their heads in shame and beg the millions of victims in Cuba for forgiveness.

A cheap frolic in the sun while thousands of Castro's innocent political enemies rot in Cuban jails hardly jives with Canada's vaunted values.
For shame, for shame, for shame!

So how is this Canada's fault? The west has a shortage of workers that hasn't been seen in my lifetime. There are jobs for everyone. If you are poor make your life better for you and your children. I guess that means getting off the reserve.

Did you just close your eyes when you were there, or did you not care about the poor?

Anyone with half a brain..............which I realize puts limits on some that can read this crap, should know that the people involved must take responsibility for the conditions in which they live and where they live. Looking at the list looks like the "state" should be responsible for proper housing and the raising of children. The government tried the raising part years ago and failed miserably with the boarding schools.
Single parents, mould and the others are the responsibility of the house, community and the morals they've developed. If I have mould in my house or have to boil my water (which happened 6 or 7 years ago) I and my city must deal with it to get it fixed.

While you're thre, buy a newspaper, while you still can.

Updated information on imprisoned Cuban journalists

In Cuba, any journalist who does not work for the official media is considered to be an “enemy of the state” or a “mercenary”.

There are currently 24 of them who have paid with their freedom for having founded an independent news agency, written for a dissident review or spoken to a media in the Cuban diaspora. Some are serving prison sentences of 14-27 years. Others are being held without trial. Another, despite being put on trial, has never been told what his sentence was. All of them however suffer the same overcrowding, appalling prison conditions and mistreatment from the prison authorities that are the lot of more than 300 prisoners of opinion on the island.

That other Cuban jail.
