Where was the beat down? Again, you must be watching a video of some other incident. What I can see is the traffic cop falling off camera and likely onto her. This is just like the referee who fell on the native kid at the hockey game after tripping/being tripped. That kid got hurt too, but it wasn't intentional as some were claiming. This woman is the victim of her own stupidity, and nothing else.

As I said, it's likely she landed face first on the pavement, off camera. As the pictures I posted show.

What happens off camera we can only speculate, but her face didn't look like that while she was on camera.

ShepherdsDog @ Tue Jan 13, 2015 12:11 pm

Road rash....from doing a face plant into the pavement. I'm not denying she fell on the road(or that the cop landed on her), as that's what the camera seems to show, and there are pictures of her laying on the ground bloody, with two cops standing over her. What I am contesting is your assertion that she was given a 'beat down'. She's the author of her own woes and the fact that she had her lies exposed regarding assault and sexual assault, makes her look like a serious piece of shit. I bet she's wishing she should have kept her pie hole shut after finding out everything was recorded on the dashcam of the sheriff's bike.

I have in the past, told an officer that I would only take a breathalizer if he changed the mouthpiece in front of me. Something that is also perfectly legal. It's not refusal, it's conditional. The same as "I will show you my license, if you stop banging on my car".

Seriously? Ever picked up an infection from someone "banging" on your car? Sorry, that's not a reasonable condition to not produce your licence during a traffic stop.
The problem is we're only getting one side of the story. We have no idea what she was doing on that cellphone before and during the initial stop.
The argument that there's no mention of a speeding charge is irrelevant as well. Speeding isn't a criminal offence. Assaulting a police officer is. Resisting arrest is.
When stuff like this happens over a simple traffic stop I can't help think the person being pulled over had a big part in how things went down.
Don't cop an attitude and the cop usually won't either.
Had one cop pull me over for speeding. Was doing 25 over the limit when I saw him at the crest of a hill. I didn't bother trying to slow down, just waited 'til I saw him pull out and turn on his lights and then pulled over right away.
He asked me if I saw him and I said I did. He asked me why I didn't slow down when I saw him and I said, "Well, I figured you already had me pegged for speeding so there wasn't much sense in trying to insult your intelligence by pretending I wasn't." He knocked the speed down to 15 over on the ticket so I wouldn't lose any points on my licence.

I had another one pull me over on the 401 for speeding in a construction zone. I hadn't reached the construction zone yet and pointed it out to the officer. At which point she then went to write me up a ticket because one of my DRLs was cooked. The headlight still worked just not the DRL. When she saw that it still worked she said she had to write me a ticket anyway because she pulled me over and called it in. However, she wasn't an asshole about it. The ticket she handed me had a licence plate number that wasn't even close to mine so I could easily fight it.

Hell I've even been pulled over simply for having long hair while driving the "wrong" car in the "wrong" neighbourhood. While it was a hassle it never turned into anything crazy.
The way you talk to the police will have a MAJOR bearing on their attitude towards you.

Although one time still has me wondering what was going on. I was in the little village of Russell Woods well outside of Windsor when I saw a cop give me the flashers. As he pulled up behind me I notice some dude in the front seat with him wearing a wife beater. I found that a little odd. When the cop approached my window and asked for my licence and registration, I noticed he was a Windsor cop. At which point I said, "Yer a little out of your jurisdiction", put my car in gear and drove off. He didn't pursue me.

I don't see any intial reason to arrest her, but damn she reacted poorly. As for any Injuries, I don't see any excessive force. The only thing that seems excessive is arresting her in the first place, but I suppose more info might come out regarding that.

That may have been from her fall at the end of the video.

Freakinoldguy @ Tue Jan 13, 2015 4:58 pm

Scrapes are on the wrong side of her face. She's face down on her right side but the majority of her injuries are on the left side.

WTF. [huh]

I seriously doubt it but, did they flip her over and grind the left side of her face in the pavement? :P

They said their issue isn't with what he did, but what he said.....lying about events during the inquest. So far, the only obvious lies in this case are the ones told by the woman claiming victimhood

I provided a counter-example--one of many I could readily provide.

There's just too many cops, in my opinion, and they are bored. So you get a bunch of cops turning up for minor things. Then the testosterone kicks in.

Agreed.

And then they have all these cool military weapons and they're always looking for reasons to use them.

Put a bunch of them on the beat like they did once upon a time, getting to know the people and their neighborhoods.

Man, you like to live dangerously. If you get pulled over out of sight of anybody else, I'm not sure I would pull these shenanigans, things could go very badly, and I'm not sure I want to take a beating just to prove a point - with the cops almost always getting away with it anyway. even shooting you.

OTOH, I can't recall the last time I was pulled over. I would guess decades ago. (Course I don't drive that much, and I only speed if that's what traffic around me is doing.)

Police officers are by and large very reasonable people. They really are no different than you and I, and generally want the same things.

It's the ones that don't that are the problem. Knowing your rights is how you defeat them, and standing up for your rights - even at the prospect of a night stick to the head - is how you defend them.

Like Zip says, as soon as we start choosing the easy path, we start to lose those rights.

And the last time I got pulled over, for 5km over the limit, the Police Officer got cute and asked if I could produce my Registration, License and 'Race Car License'. So I gave him all 3 and he knew he was 'busted', shook his head, laughed and let me go. Probably never expected anyone to actually produce a Racing License.

I typically don't get pulled over, because I typically don't do anything wrong. I pride myself on my good driving, even when the people around me aren't.

Have to call bullshit on 5km over.

Right smart ass. For every one case like that in Canada you can find I can find you ten from other seedy countries so save it. If you are going to argue our cops are as crooked and dangerous at say Mexico, name any country in South America, or Russia etc etc you can find all the links you want, I'm pretty sure the majority won't side with your argument.

So to reiterate, by and far we are not in an environment where police are to be feared when coming in your house, asking you to step out of the car etc. You want to argue otherwise go on and embarrass yourself.

Besides, she was saying she was scared for her safety because of the traffic. In which case she never should have left the car and then tried running onto the road.

Yes it is. (Infection?). It's about respect. If they expect some, they need to show some. Tapping on my car is some alpha male bullshit trying to claim my territory as his own and making me uncomfortable in my own car.

My standing firm on my rights is about the law he's supposed to uphold, and a reminder that is why he's here. Once we come to an understanding over what is mine and what is his, then we can continue our business.

Exactly. We can only go by what evidence we have. And I don't see resisting arrest or assault in that video.

The Vois Dire should be over this week, so we'll see what the judge says.

You've got to be kidding me. I know you're trying to stand your ground here but you're being ridiculous about it.

A cop tapping on your car asking you to roll down your window is some alpha-male bullshit that might give you an infection? REALLY?

Give you're head a shake.
