I think that is a big part of it. Breasts are more of a sexual appendage then a conveyance of nutrition. Still, a 10 year old girl pushing a stroller is cute, not so much if you saw her breast feeding.

Yes, a grown women breast feeding is quite natural. It's a sign of motherhood and caring for her child. Unless this dudes country is filled with 9 year olds breast feeding kids, there is a difference between his country supporting breastfeeding and supporting kids pretending to do it.
Secondly, a hundred years ago kids were not bombarded by all these objects and toys that taught them to grow up. Hell they had a story on some dude who made stripper toys for little kids.
A hundred years ago kids wouldn't even have given a second thought about pretending to breat feed a child because kids were doing what kids should be doing which is being kids.
Kids are required to have fun, go to school, do there homework and that's all. Kids are not suppose to be bombared with adulthood before they are even 10 years away from actually being able to do this stuff in real-life... as adults.

But Bacardi4206, you know kids imitate everything they see. I'd go as far as saying that young girls that saw/see women breastfeeding, imitate that behavior with their dolls.
Thing is, most girls today are never exposed to that, seeing that families are smaller, breastfeeding is not as common and is even taboo.

I believe you've fallen for that taboo he describes. I for one enjoy the looks of womens' breasts, but I also like hair, eyes, mouths, necks, shoulders . . . and legs. None of which have been designated 'sexual appendages' by the 'moral majority'.
Breasts have a dual purpose, to feed babies, and to add desirable curves to an already curvy shape.

I can personally state that you are correct - that does in fact happen. And they don't need a $100 doll to do it either.

Too true. My wife and I run with a social circle in which breastfeeding is the norm, and virtually all the little girls pretend to breastfeed at some time or another (and ask for blankets and things to be turned into slings to carry their dolls, etc). There's virtually no bottle feeding play though.

Not at all. It's never too soon to teach girls to trust and respect their own bodies, especially when it comes to matters of child rearing and child birth. There is far too much pressure out there in the other direction.

IMO, just seems that kids need to be kids, plenty of time to 'grow up' later. Certainly kids should be taught all about their bodies. These things are also 'time appropriate'. How about a 'little boys 'ken doll' for 5 yr olds, that 'when stroked, gets a woody, & shoots jizz'. After all, shouldn't boys be taught 'all about their bodies' as well!

Ah I should have cleared that up, I meant that in North America "Breasts are seen as more of a sexual appendage then a conveyance of nutrition."
I agree completely with the point you made; if we sexualized feet, they would gain similar status to breasts.

I think toy makers run out of ideas and options to renew, because everything has already been done.
So automatically, when you come up with something new, it will be controversial.

I dont see why they couldnt make a doll that learns language. A doll that would pick/mimic its owners speech, so a kid could (over a few weeks) teach the baby doll to say words and string those into phrases. I have been looking and cant find a doll that can do this.

I still have a few of these ^^^ still in the original packaging! The technology could be used in any doll-toy. Wonder why that hasn't been done yet.
