Uhm, that was for street racing. They are not applying the law correctly in my opinion...

You're right, it's stupid application of the law, but this guy also seems a little dense.

Just another example of how an indented law is used inappropriately in my opinion.
You can not lump all people under one category. Granted, 50 Km over the posted limit has ALWAYS been considered as dangerous driving.

What do you mean people don't know? It's been in the news for weeks, and it is displayed on numerous signs along major highways.
The streets in Ontario have become a dangerous place to be, especially the highways. I've noticed in the past few weeks that it is slowing down out there, and it's not as hectic or aggressive.
I have no sympathy for these people who are caught because they are ignorant to....well pretty much everything around them. Keep up the good work and impound some more!

Anyone who has ever driven in Ontario knows that 30 - 50 over is no big deal. Drive the 400/401 and people go stupid ludicirous speed all of the time but the traffic is too heavy for th ecops to do anuthing about it. I received a ticket for going to slow and Iwas doing 20 over. Ontario is a garbage province with garbage laws and of course the garbage people.

Screenshot or it didn't happen. Unfortunately for you there are many people who have driven many KM in Ontario, myself included. I've never had trouble driving the speed limit on the 400/401. Ever. And I've driven it from Windsor to Parry Sound more times that I wish to count. Do people drive fast? Sure. But you aren't getting a ticket for being too slow at 120 km/h.

NS laws are very public. I knew about them on my first month here. Unlike Quebec and Ontario, after 3 speeding tickets I lost my driving license for 6 mos.

Yes, the law was intended to go after teenage street racers, but aren't self-important egotists who think that their busy schedule is more important than your LIFE just as dangerous as street racers?
Sorry, but I see these a-holes in traffic every morning cutting in and out of lanes while sipping coffee or looking at their stupid Blackberries.
So, yes, take their damn cars and get them off the road if they can't behave themselves.

In my opinion it takes at least two cars to call it a race. If it's one car it's just plain speeding. The question is every time they ding a driver with this offence, shouldn't there be at least two cars impounded and two drivers charged? The law was promoted and passed under the premise that it would stop street racing, yet I've yet to read a single case where more than one person per stop has been charged with the new law. There were plenty of laws in place like "dangerous" or "careless" driving before hand to handle a single car going excessively fast so why call this racing when it's just speeding. I'm getting the feeling that they're not nabbing the intended clientele so are grabbing whoever to pad the stats.
