But pitbulls are such loving pets!
Ban 'em. It's fine with me.
If only he had a handgun, he could have defended himself.
More animals need a kill switch.
Leftover motorcycle joke from horsey riding lessons.
Not a serious comment.
Obviously this animal had demonstrated aggression previously because the person who was waiting in their car had been told to stay there "because of the dog." People who rationalize away aggressive tendencies in their dogs are playing Russian Roulette. Sooner or later it will come back to bite them. (pun intended)
Animal do get out of hand sometime. That's why we are not allowed to have bear or linx has pet or a 12' crocodile. Pit bull pose the same risk.
I don't understand people's obsession's with having pitbulls, ban em
Prejudice against all pit bulls. One or two may go nuts, but so will every other breed.
It's simple tricks animal even the nicest one loose controle it just appen ok. If my Cat go bunker on me Ill manage but if your pit bull go beserk on you well.... good luck.
Yup, most dogs get out of line, all you have to do is cuff 'em on the head and they run away, or a lot of the time just yell at them.
If I yell at a growling pitbull or cuff him on the head? He eats me.
You never see the headlines"beagle attacks paper boy" but it happens all the time.
Its been awhile since someone has been killed by a dog in the area, maybe even the first case of it. Maybe that elderly couple should of went for a different type of dog instead of a pit bull/lab cross.
There's a reason you don't hear about "Poodle bites child" headlines - if it happens, it's not a serious injury.
Risk is a combination of severity and probability. Now, even if the probability of dogs biting people is the same across breeds (which I doubt it is), the severity of a pitbull dog bite is that much greater than a retreiver, or a small terrier.
The argument that "oh it's the owner's fault, not the breed" doesn't hold any water, either. The fact is, all kinds of people own dogs, and some are going to be more able to keep them properly than others. If a breed is inherently dangerous, then it should be regulated, for the same reasons large machinery, tools, and weapons are regulated.
