The biggest barrier to staying on course for a crime-free life is employment, Zwicker said. More than 97% of those who receive a pardon and get a job never commit another crime.
Seems he pointed out the solution to his own problem. One that doesn't make taxpayers pay. Having trouble finding work and fitting in socially or whatever is a result of committing a crime. It's meant as one of the deterrents. Turning it around and saying it's the governments fault if they have to turn back to crime due to not finding work is one big false argument. You know what guy? Its going to be rough getting back to clean living once you get out. If you don't like it then don't break the law again next time!

Zwicker also proposes legislation that would bar an employer from discriminating on the grounds of a criminal record if it has no bearing on ability to do the job,
Why should an owner of a PRIVATE business who has poured blood an sweat into a company be FORCED to take a risk on someone?
While I don't agree with everything he says, Evan Sayet gave a pretty good talk regarding a perspective some may have regarding discrimination.
Basically, some liberal-minded folks have gone so far in their crusade against discrimination that they cannot distinguish between rational and irrational decisions.
I'd encourage everybody to watch this video. Even if you don't agree with it, is brings an interesting and mostly-unique perspective.

These guys do need a job and they do need help getting it but that's not to say they deserve to be given a job. There are security firms that hire only ex-forces folks. Maybe one of these guys needs to start their own business and trust these people.
Where's all that philentropic cash that the drug dealer supporters keep talking about?
