I think the largest American mass murder was achieved over New York with box cutters, wasn't it? [/url]

Ah the dusting off the Republicans’ old “because 9/11” rebuttal. Works for any topic eh?

Yes, because when one is forced to notice the statistical reality of mass shootings being comparatively tiny next to other methods of violence, the gun-grabber emotes, "A stabbing! A beating! Think of how many can be killed in a single shooting with a gun. Think of Sandy Hook. Think of the babies!"

The obvious counter is "How many died in the single incident of 9-11?" But we can go on, if you like. The largest mass killing in an American school was caused by an explosion. The largest school mass murder in recent world history was multi-weapon in Russia.

Islamic terror popularized the use of vehicles as murder weapons and now even infidel, psycho copycats are discovering they can be quite effective.

There has only ever been one 9/11-scale attack in the US. . Mass shootings happen all the time.

Pretty damn sure that if Tim McVeigh hadn't done what he'd done, with the brave slaying of a day-care centre in a government building, and was alive today he definitely would have been MAGA-ing it up on the streets of Charlottesville last year. Would have been a huge Alex Jones fan too with endless tweets to the SOB and his disgusting protege Paul Joseph Watson as well.

Wasn’t that Timothy McVeigh?

No. In fact that's so wrong I can't decide if you're serious or not.

Oh wait...I get it. You're trying to be clever, right?

Because McVeigh used the truck to move the material he planned to use as a bomb we can pretend that made the truck the weapon, right?

OK, so I'll answer that like you were serious. No, not really.

However, you'll notice I didn't say Islamic terror "originated" the use of vehicles as murder weapons. I said "popularized."

Actually, if you look at the previous page here, you'll see a link to wikipedia page on mass murders in Australia.

You'll notice there was an Australian using the "truck of peace" technique back in the 80s.

Right...IED in truck, driven to building , IED set off, killing people. Truck has not been weaponized...Right...
Any more nits to pick?

Ummm....you aren't going to convince Fiddly DD Goebbels of anything. He and his lot view McVeigh as a hero.

Batting Team Clueless around with a beer in one hand and one-hand typing with the other. What a lark. Sunday fun. Thanks for popping in with a contribution there, team leader.

But no Fifey, driving to your target with a bomb in your car is not the mass murder tactic we were discussing although, of course that works too. Not every time though:

Times Square Bombing Attempt

But here give me your little hand, I'll show you what the big kids were talking about with a cartoon.

Mass murders of many types happen all the time. For example we were just discussing "Truck of Peace" style attacks. Fifey has noticed that explosives work too.

Here's one we missed:

Japan knife attack: At least 19 dead

Although as you point out the 9/11 box cutter to 'plane of peace' style attack might hold the record.

Why hasn't the leftist media conspiracy told us what religion these people followed? Or what kind of gun was used?

We need this information in order to further strengthen our confirmation biases.

You don't think that mass shootings are a massive problem in the US?

They are.

But where most of our mass shootings are black people slaughtering other black people the media tends to play down the gun issue to avoid the appearance of wanting to prohibit black people from owning guns...something that was a prominent aspect of the notorious Jim Crow laws.

N_Fiddledog @ Mon May 14, 2018 11:07 am

In fact there's a proposal that says the first push for American gun control was when the Democrats wanted to keep blacks from getting guns.

And? White people used to keep slaves. Move on. Sad attempt at a dig at the Democrats.

Or we could just treat everyone equally under gun control measures?

No. It's still relevant. Speaks to how the move to gun grabbing can be politically motivated rather than centered on any sincere wish for public safety.

Also, it shows how the public can be emotionally manipulated by fear. Today they isolate and maximize any event to hysterical levels. Back in the day the Dems had people freaking out about the Black menace. "What if they get guns?!!!"

Also, it is not the central plank to the anti-gungrabbing argument. It's only an incidental little thing worth adding to the multitudinous support for that argument.

What specifically do you mean by "equal gun control measures?"

Oh, I’m sorry, someone said
$1:
Islamic terror popularized the use of vehicles as murder weapons and now even infidel, psycho copycats are discovering they can be quite effective.

I didn’t realize he meant only ramming incidents.
But wait ( ) don’t most countries have laws about “vehicular homicide”. Must be only countries with Muslim populations.

Oh, and just a side note: Olga Hepnarová 8O

N_Fiddledog @ Mon May 14, 2018 12:10 pm

And one more time until you get it...I said "popularized." I didn't say "originated."

Yes, I know Timothy McVeigh stored explosives in a truck. I also know the underpants bomber stored explosives in his underpants.

I already showed you how a previous 'truck of' peace style attack happened in Australia in the 80s. I believe the link is on the first page.

However the actual point being made was that there are many methods of mass murder. Yes Timothy McVeigh was not a Muslim. Nor was Anders Breivik or what's-his-name, that little goof with the funny haircut who had a shirt with the confederate flag on it. But so what? None of that has anything to do with the actual point being made - that there are many methods of mass murder.
