Jim looks like he's looking up at Big Daddy Canada saying: "please don't hurt me..."

Do you want fiscal stimulus or not? make up your mind Derby?

DerbyX @ Thu Jan 22, 2009 5:29 pm

I never said run a massive deficit nor hand over barrels of cash to the automakers. This isn't a stimulus budget. Its a "we are sticking it to our kids budget".

Kinda pathetic you guys were all screaming about how the Liberal and NDP budgets would lead to deficits (when they were at least costed) yet now fully accept your party running 30+ deficits per year.

At least now we know why Harper did not release a costed platform. He would have been found out as the deficit magnet that he is.

I sincerely hope this isn't true.

Bibbi @ Thu Jan 22, 2009 6:05 pm

This could get very bizarre if the budget is rejected by the opposition because of the potential deficit.

mtbr @ Thu Jan 22, 2009 6:14 pm

yeah, we can replace the conservatives with a coalition of clowns who planned to drop 30 billion at the drop of the hat.

RUEZ @ Thu Jan 22, 2009 7:02 pm

The coalition wanted spending, and they got it.

DerbyX @ Thu Jan 22, 2009 7:15 pm

No, the conservatives wanted spending because thats what they thought the public wanted. They also believe the public wants tax cuts right along with it which is probably true since everybody wants tax cuts.

They are betting on the public supporting their combination more then they will balk at the massive deficit it sticks us with.

The coalition had various measures to avoid a massive deficit be they rollbacks on corporate taxes, GST cuts, or a carbon tax.

Thats why they would not be running a massive deficit like Harper is and why this is Harpers ball to run with and his responsibility.

I'm not the hack trying to blame everybody else for my parties mistakes.

sandorski @ Thu Jan 22, 2009 7:29 pm

Harper didn't do it, he was forced!!!!

Fine logic there.

Makes one wonder if he's fit to Lead.

Scape @ Thu Jan 22, 2009 7:57 pm

During the debates Harper was on record for saying he would not run a deficit. How can anything he says now be taken as credible for the finical markets? I'm not talking about the voters who will end up paying for this but the markets who have to bank on his word.

When it comes to dollars and sense, Harper just doesn't add up.
