Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
So... we'll have another Conservative minority.

Blah.

And we stave off destruction for another few years. Hopefully next time the Liberals can give Canada a competent leader with a platform the country can get behind.

$1:
So... we'll have another Conservative minority.

Or a Liberal/NDP coalition with the Bloc holding the balance of power. Depends how the math works out.

This thing is far from over though. Harper just got nailed for lying about his tape by his own expert. That makes the Conservatives guilty of trying to bribe an MP, and puts Steve in the position of having known about it.

That's a hell of a thing to happen at the end of an election, eh?

Toro @ Fri Oct 10, 2008 5:32 pm

This doesn't surprise me. Again, I'll point you to the 1988 election when the same thing happened in a debate between Mulroney and Turner. Turner did better than expected in the debate and closed the gap on the Tories. But within a few days, his support began to slip and Mulroney won again.

If both leaders are well known, unless there is a tremendous gaffe, debates do not dramatically change the election since opinions are molded by pre-conceived notions before the election and during the election itself.

Reverend Blair @ Fri Oct 10, 2008 5:37 pm

What doesn't surprise you, Toro? That Steve broke the law and his own expert just said that the tape Harper was lying about hasn't been altered?

bribing an MP is gangster kind of stuff.

kenmore @ Fri Oct 10, 2008 5:38 pm

Le 14 octobre il est temps de se donner un vrai gouvernement et un vrai premier ministre. Le 14 octobre on veut Stéphane Dion et les libéraux

Toro @ Fri Oct 10, 2008 5:38 pm

Blair, if all the parties dropped out of the election except the Conservatives, you would still predict the Tories would lose.

Go press charges then. It's your duty as a citizen to do so if witnessing a crime.
