We're not sure....the idea of using balloons is interesting, why it is specifically done in French, when the operating language of the Canadian military and NATO is English...not a clue.

Language is a very useful combat tool. During WWII a small group of Navajo Marines
made a big difference toward bringing Allied Victory.

Helium isn't affected by incendiary muntions. The use of hydrogen filled balloons on the field of combat went out in WW I.
