$1:
Within 48 hours, all had been released, including one man with 160 criminal convictions who had been accused of shooting at a police officer.

There's something seriously wrong with our justic system when 28 gang member are arrested and then set free with in 48 hours.

Unreal! Did they each get a big hug when they let them back on the streets?

Look on the bright side, at least we'll have two nice 50 million dollar pedestrian bridges we can enjoy being mugged on. God knows that when you’re being shot at and robbed that the most important thing is having it done to you in a ultra liberal sheik artistic setting.

And don't forget he’s got uniformed police officers on the paths connecting these bridges, handing out tickets to people riding their bikes to fast and for not ringing their bells when passing pedestrians. 8O

Well this is hardly fair and not part of the issue, The incidents of injury on Bike paths are up due to speeding bikers, thy are not JUST bike paths and are shared with walkers and rollerbladers, so they should be giving tickets out to speeders.
Also these Thugs were arrested after an investigation, which points to the fact that Police are doing their jobs, It is the Justice System that released these people not the police.
As far as liberal lawmakers and un needed infrastructure, well I agree with you there.

$1:
Last year, Bronconnier started railing against a "revolving door" justice system after a 10-month police sting dubbed Operation Barbershop saw 19 gang members arrested with 150 charges laid.

Within 48 hours, all had been released, including one man with 160 criminal convictions who had been accused of shooting at a police officer.

The Canadian justice system is a joke.

A firmly entrenched far-left "justice" system.
Nothing new here.

This is something for Bylaw cops.

Thre aren't enough of them either, and they are mostly fat old men who do not want to get out of their vehicles. lol But I agree that Bylaw is the department that should deal with the pathways.

Well said. The lesser known fact of life in Calgary right now, one that Mayor Bronconnier doesn't like talking about very much because he can't blame Ed Stelmach for it, is that we currently have right now one of the worst city councils we've ever had. These liberal artsy-fartsy bullshit slingers on Council would fit right in with David Miller and those goof-offs in Toronto who also do nothing about crime and go out of their way to blame everyone else (such as the police or legal gun owners) except the criminals for their own current crime epidemic. That Calgary is blowing $50M on those two pedestrian bridges to provide another luxury service for a couple of yuppie-infested neighbourhoods across the river from downtown instead of giving the money to the police force is absolutely ridiculous. Bronconnier should get his own house in order and shut his goddamn mouth before he attacks the other levels of government for not doing the same things that his own level of government refuses to do themselves.
