Leviticus 20:13. If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

However, the offending passages remain, waiting for some zealots to seize upon. And the question remains: If the bible was written by god and is therefor inviolate, how can true believers simply ignore the passage?

You don't ignore it, but you don't follow it because that is part of the Old Covenant. Same with a lot of the dictates on weaving and stuff and all the stoning laws. Do you really want to get into a discussion of Christian doctrine?
Also, this case is ridiculous.

"THE BIBLE SAYS.." has never been a valid point, but if it WAS, it wouldn't be now cause it keeps changing. I say we get someone to publish a bible that says the complete oposite of everything this one says, so that the argument of "the bible says" becomes moot!
