Wow. glad I decided not to buy any of those ugly POS's. Ford uses metal in their engine bays.
Heh, my intake manifold is plastic. No problems yet, coming up on 4 years later.
Yea, my intake is too. But its nowhere near the exhaust headers, and the spark plugs wires are tied down with metal.
its called job creation
Talk about bad timing...
Instead of replacing the plastic plug cable retainer, why couldn't they produce an engine that does not leak drops of oil. GM's 3.8 litre engine has been around since the Leafs won the Stanley cup.
For the 54 of you who frequent this end of the firum, none of you would
a) be able to create the problem
b) fix the problem, and
c) are the problem.
I find it strange that their fix dosen't involve stopping those drips of oil getting on the manifold and catching fire but removing othr things that can burn. If the flaming oil was setting something on fire, isn't that already a problem?
I would argue that ALL GMs are a "risk of fire." I conclude this on the grounds that anyone STUPID enough to purchase a GM is also stupid enough to be more likely to be involved in a car crash than a person of, say, 'normal' intelligence. It's a form of Natural Selection, really.
Ford still holds the record for nightmare recalls. The recall involved the installation of a warning light to tell you that the wheel bearing has over heated and is about to fail causing your wheel to fall off.
