I was waiting for someone to say something like that. So you figure that if every student and staff member on that campus had a gun it would be a safer place.
Funny thing, in my 25 years in the Marine Corps I never once saw a crazy guy come onto base with a couple of handguns to try to randomly shoot a bunch of heavily armed Marines.
I've also never heard of a criminal, other than Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone, going into a police station to shoot the place up.
You never hear of some guy going nutsy at a public shooting range where everyone is armed, locked, and loaded.
I've never heard of a mass shooting at a gun show. For that matter, I've never heard of a shooting at a gunshow at all.
So counter to the premise that access to firearms would be indicative of crime, in those environments where 50% to 100% of the people present are armed - military bases, police stations, shooting ranges, Israel, Switzerland, there is very little firearms related crime.

The point is you can't possibly arm everyone.
There will allways be people who chose not to bear guns and even more that are incapable or I'll suited to have guns. Policemen get shot and killed every year.
Oh, well. Back to topic.
I wonder what drove him to it? Bullying perhaps?

could of fooled me, thought this thread was created to discuss the Vtech tragedy, the debate just turned to gun laws.

Third point on gun control, do some basic research, UK, NZ and Australia have handgun BANS and there rates of violent crime have gone up 25%, UK 50%!!! Why? because the bad guys DON'T FOLLOW THE LAW, so do you want unarmed people waiting to be picked off because they are not responsible for their own safety or would you rather have a licensed, trained person sitting next to you that would have ended this long before the second round of insanity started? Your choice but please do some research before blaming the lack of gun control for everything.
Should the police responce have been simular to Dawson?
