Ottawa muzzling scientists, panel tells global research community
$1:
For almost three weeks after David Tarasick published findings about one of the largest ozone holes ever discovered above the Arctic, the federal scientist was barred from breathing a word about it to the media.
Kristi Miller was similarly gagged from granting interviews about her own research into a virus that might be killing British Columbias wild sockeye salmon, despite going to print in the prestigious journal Science.
...
Its pretty clear that for federal scientists, Ottawa decides now if the researchers can talk, what they can talk about and when they can say it, senior science journalist Margaret Munro, with Postmedia News, told a group gathered at the American Association for the Advancement of Science annual meeting.
Were not talking about state secrets here.
Steven Harper: Bought and paid for by big oil.

I thought this was going to be another story about how liberals abhor violence except when it's directed at conservatives.

Why would Drug Dealers want their Jobs/Market eliminated?

I was going to ask that too, but I've figured it out. Drug dealers are fiendishly clever. By paying Curtman to advocate eliminating their jobs/market, it gets the troglodytes roaring and supporting Harper for ever more war on drugs bullshit. The fiends. Bet they contribute (laundered) profits to the CPC as well. They're their natural allies anyway. Can you see the Hell's Angels voting NDP? How manly is that?

In Vancouver, you mean? We're still talking about the science meeting in Vancouver, right? I think maybe, yeah. Wasn't the last NDP premier caught sneaking casino licenses to his buddies, or something. It's been awhile, but wasn't graft a problem for the NDP when they were power in BC? So I think maybe yeah, not only would the Hell's Angels vote NDP, they'd donate.
Speaking of the science meeting in Vancouver though. The link offers up this name...
"Prof. Andrew Weaver"Every time that name pops up I know we're talking activist BS. Wasn't he the guy who was talking government conspiracy, because he misplaced his laptop?
I know he's the guy the global warming nuts at Global TV run to every time they want somebody with initials after his name to say the world's burning up, and we're all gonna die.

Andrew Weaver is a Nobel Laureate: Canada's preeminent climate scientist. He is the author of books on climate change, too. His latest has been sent by the publisher to every Member of Parliament - free.
It is written at a Grade 8 level so as to be widely readable, but, I fear, that may not be dumbed down enough for the CPC caucus. The publisher is Orca Books.
On the subject topic! I have had some exchange with my MP - a CPC twit - recently. I apprised him of quite a few things about climate change if which he was not aware. The gagging of Canadian scientists was one.
The lying of Peter Kent over the "$14 billion" cost to remain in Kyoto was another.
He did surprise me, though, by ending our last conversation with the request that I give him more information about this government's lack of action.

When you get up and calm down you may be able to think and comment intelligently.

Eureka, dude, this is exactly the kind of post that's earned you the ire of so many here on CKA. Your first paragraph is terrific. You've addressed Fiddledog's incorrect statement about Andrew Weaver. Weaver is one of the world's most respected climate scientists and is Canada's preeminent author on the subject. But you couldn't stop there. You had to take a jab at the CPC, call Peter Kent a liar and top it off with some delusional nonsense about the corridors of power you claim to walk. Instead of making a post that defends Weaver, you've ended up making yourself look a friggin' kook again. Everyone who reads your post is left thinking that Fiddledog was likely right about Weaver because you're a nut job. You've not only hurt your own reputation but that of the person you set out to defend as well.

Could it be that CKA is lost in a space-time continuum rift and Eureka is actually in another dimension?
That's the only explanation I could find.

Don't confuse him. Clearly he's no good at thinking as it is.

I theorized that we are all figments of Eureka's imagination a couple months ago.
