I completely support the workers here. Unions have to make a stand or they'll be gone. Who better to make a stand against?

And while the buttons may be controversial, they are also accurate. That should count for something.

You seem like a smart guy. You don't honestly believe that do you?

I know civil servants really well.

Despite a very small minority, I've never been surounded by a larger group of self entitled wankers who honestly believe they are entitled to a job for life. They all seem to forget some of the most basic concepts of their jobs, they are Public Servants. They are there to serve the best interest of the Canadian Public, and if there jobs are not required they should be axed for the greater interest of the Canadians. Trust me there's a lot of dead wood in the public service.

These people obviously don't have access to a dictionary, because the very basic terms of all of public service jobs at best are listed as "indeterminate" positons.

Indeterminate
Adjective:
1.Not certain, known, or established: "the date of manufacture is indeterminate".
2.Left doubtful; vague.

Theres no such thing as a "permanent" position in the federal public service. If the best interest of Canada is to fire a couple thousand of civil servants, then guess what ? That's part of the job.

This union, my union sent me a letter telling me to vote for the Bloc at one point in an effort to get rid of the Conservatives. A party that wants nothing to do with Canada.

Fuck these ass holes.

Well, Bodah certainly seems to hate them. Why is is beyond reason that Harper feels the same way?

You've seen the comments about public servants by the right-wingers on this web site. The Harper government is right-wing. It's not much of a stretch.

Egg-zack-ly. Bodah probably is a civil servant, too. Must be tough to live wiht that kind of self-loathing.

Imagine if soldiers had been allowed to wear pins like this directed to the Liberals after their cuts.

They went one better - they went to the media and complained about the "decade of darkness". That got far more exposure than some stupid little pins would have.

Having said that, if someone is dumb enough to wear it to work, they probably shouldn't expect to work at that organization much longer.

It doesn't matter if you wear the pin at work or not. Accordning to the government, civil servants cannot criticize the government at work or on their own time.

They went to the media when Chretein was no longer the PM. Quite a big difference.

Yet another case of NIMBY-ism in the public sector. "We know we need to save money but leave us alone".

Times are changing. The economy is different. We need to save money. It's happening all over the World in the private and public sectors.

Time to wake up to reality. This 'public service under attack' mantra is getting old.

Unsound @ Fri Jun 29, 2012 6:21 am

I'm pretty sure the public service has been under attack my whole life. Or atleast it seems that way.

I really can't recall the last time there wasn't one union or another saying that the government hated them and that all our social services were falling apart for lack of funding.

No, no, no. It's only Stephen Harper who hates unions.
