While important these things have been known for awhile. I would like real sugar back please.

Just stay away as much as possible from processed foods.

I even buy Organic Whole Sugar now.
A bit more expensive but I pretty much only use sugar in my coffee now.
I find that it gives a better taste to it.

(I know, I shouldn't even put sugar in my coffee... sue me)

My dentist has made me remove sugar from many of the things I love to consume. I am sad; only 25 and I'm made to remove the delicious sweetness.

The biggest problem is that HFCS is in everythign these days, not just pop. It's in spaghetti sauce too for example.

I read a few yers ago in Men's Health that North Americans consumed something like 2 pounds a year in the 70s, but that it's now up to 70+ pounds a year.

Another problem is that because it isn't natural (like sugar), your body can not recognize it as easily, and people tend to ocnsume more of it than they would foods sweetened with sugar.

It's not news--it's just the liberal mainscream media paving the way for the gummint to control what you eat. Pretty soon, homosexuality will be mandatory and they'll take all the conservatives, grind them up, and shoot them into the atmosphere to stop gloBULL warming.

Well, I wouldn't get all over the "liberal mainscream media" over this one.
Companies that make these "foods" play stupid games and no one does anything about it.
Example: General Foods, maker of healthy Cheerios also makes a number of high sugar kid's cereals. When the guidelines for the amount of sugar in kid's cereals was lowered, General Mills reduced theirs, just not to the allowable level. When they got called out on it, they had their eggheads crunch some numbers. This is what they came up with; They reduced the serving size to the equivalent of a half bowl of cereal, thereby claiming that they now meet the standard for acceptable sugar levels per "suggested" serving in kid's cereals.

Because people should be scared of all the crap that goes into processed foods. The study shows what we already see in society. When you put this crap into your body, instances of obesity and diabetes rise. That leads to increases in heart problems, and higher health costs for us all. The generation currently being born is the first that is expected to have a shorter lifespan than their parents.

For example, one teaspoon of soy sauce exceeds your daily recommended intake of sodium. Many soups are 30% of your daily intake. Why does that soup need to have HFCS in it?

Make your own food, preferably from the seed stage all the way to your plate. You'll live better.
