The last nation to stop selling oil in US dollars was Iraq!
Meh, no difference. Bush was going to invade Iran anyway.
Oops never mind. This time they found out there were no WMD's before invading.
Oh oops never mind, they knew before invading last time, too.
this will continue to drive the US dollar down...
The days of the dollar being the economic backbone of trade is coming to an end

Well it is kind of crazy in the first place people treating paper as if it has real value.

It would be nice if the world could go back to the gold standard. When your money actually had its worth in gold not based off bank credit and money they make up practically out of thin air.

Not likely.
The dollar has been less important in world trade in the past, when all the doom-and-gloomers were also predicting the demise of the US dollar. And that was a fabulous time to buy dollars.
Just like now.

Uh.... What do you think money is? It was originally created to represent gold.

And, what is the dollar based on now? Nothing. It is fiat. Says so on the Bank of Canada website.

Dollars, of any country, are based on credit. I can't think of any country that has it other wise.
And the reason for this was to prevent recessions and deflation as the gold supply won't grow as fast as an economy which means prices will fall. This may sound good to the consumer, but when businesses and investors can make more money buy sitting on their cash, it's not good for the economy. It was one of the reasons why the Great Depression was so bad and the factor of getting off the gold standard.

Huh, not worried about the U.S. dollar at all.
I am buying into Amero's.
Have you seen the new quarter they are putting out.
The US does not buy Iranian oil so whoever was will possibly be able to use their own currency. Euros I guess.
The greenback will devalue a bit more. Us exports will skyrocket.
Canada devalued for years to boost exports. Great way the Liberals used to hide unproductivity.

Those are quarters to me and always will be. Any change that's a dollar and up will never survive.
