Justin seems to be growing as a politician. He's finally figured out that Trump could be Canada's best friend or worst enemy and is obviously trying to head off any issues before they arise. Well that and the fact that he'd pretty much hitched his horse to the Hillary wagon which, as it turns out was a major miscalculation.

I was going to say, his handling of the American election shows intelligence very unbecoming of him. Not picking sides during the campaign is the smartest thing he's done since taking office.

Guys - this is standard practice during elections among countries that aren't enemies. Is this your first election? You guys keep acting like something unusual happened here.
You are right, this shouldn't be news, and should be standard practice between allied countries. However, countries like Italy, Germany, and to my disappointment, the U.K, didn't follow standard procedure before the election.
So, when compared to the other left wing idiots who decided to shit all over the future POTUS before he was elected, Trudeau looks like a very intelligent individual. He pulled off the standard operating procedure, which in this case is a commendable action.

Actually where the Liberal Party members did just that (WTF else would you expect) Trudeau made a strong point of avoiding ANY partisan comments. He knew what to expect if it was Hillary, but nobody's got the slightest clue what to expect dealing with Trump.
