Actually I didn't "FIND" this story reading the Daily Mail I saw it on the ticker tape at the bottom of the morning news cast on BC1 TV, if that makes you any more accepting?

   

Dude, I have in the past, and will in the future, warn people about putting ANY app on their phone. Not just those from China.

My personal phone is one that does not run Apple nor Android operating systems, because of the built in spying in them.

My phone runs a modulated analogue frequency of 80Hz to 200Hz with many odd and even harmonics. Binary functions are therefore almost impossible and no applications will run.

Keeping the string dry and tight is the only thing needed for proper functionality.
Now working to upgrade the pulley system to reduce signal loss.

   

It just happened to be the first one that popped up on Google. But that doesn't change my opinion that there's a portion of society that's gone completely off the rails and are hell bent on seeing how far they can push the sane part with their completely bizarre demands.

The biggest problem isn't even so much the group that's demanding all these ridiculous things it's the portion of society that's been cowed into accepting every bizarre and less than sane demand. An act which just gives more fuel for the fires of the perpetually butt hurt. If society gave it's head a fucking shake and told the whiners to fuck off when they come out with idiotic demands like this, it would go alongway in stopping the anarchy we're being subjected to.

I wonder what America and by extension Canada would look like if our societies had caved to all the former perpetually butt hurt special interest groups that demanded we stop Saturday Morning Cartoons because of the violence, Stopped the Rock and Roll Music because the lyrics were immoral or devil worship and had they been able to stop half the movies that were made because they didn't align with their religious or moral beliefs? My guess is society would look alot more like a Puritan parking lot than the free society we have today.

But, sadly today's leadership doesn't seem to have what it takes to stand up to these childish moral superiority thugs and would rather let them run amok making their childish demands than do the right thing. So, i'd say if this insanity continues for much longer our society, our history and our freedoms will suffer irreparably. And for the record I'm not talking about the people who are actively trying to fix our societal issues but rather the thugs who are using this unrest as an excuse to run amok, make outrageous demands and turn our countries into their own personal playgrounds without consequence.

   

Making shit up accounts for half of what some people believe these days.
A minor film festival, so obscure you've never even heard of it and never willagain pulls a movie and "they cancelled Kindergarten Cop".
A California church gets ticketed for no hot water and no physical distancing in their kitchen and it's a "war on Christianity".
Someone, somewhere suggests using "Happy Holidays" as a greeting and it's "the War on Christmas".
A few protests turn into riots and it's a "marxist revolt to burn down our cities".

Learn to roll your eyes at the 90% of people who simply can't see a bigger picture than what fits in their tiny brain.

I think the problem is that such a small insignificant portion of society has been given such a loud voice by a media that seeks to make us believe these people and their opinions matter. Look! Here we are discussing it.

They don't matter. Ignore them, and they will go away. Give them voice, and they get power.

   

I'd agree but, with it shoved in our faces non stop it's pretty hard not to pay attention to the lunatics especially when their benefactors keep spraying it all over the news, the television and the internet.

So ignoring them isn't really an options but standing up to them is.

   

BLM Toronto proved that about twenty troublemakers can take anything over when they hijacked the Pride parade organization and turned it into a hyper-political entity to serve their own purposes. With the way things are going in the US with wholesale anti-police mania running amok I'd fully expect all police dramas/comedies in movie & TV to be scrubbed from existence in the next couple of years. That's how much stroke the police-haters now have, combined with the support of the dipshit actors in those shows and magnified even more by the pure cowardice of the producers & studios who will automatically cave in so they won't lose any money.

It's happened before. Up until Platoon and the other Vietnam War movies of the late-1980's changed the dynamic, most prior depictions of soldiers in that war and of the veterans who came home ranged from being uncomplementary to outright insulting, with them being played mostly as lunatics, fascists, drug-addicts, or deranged criminals. Even the very good films of the period, like Apocalypse Now, weren't exactly pro-soldier. Aside from the very silly films like The Green Berets, which was a ridiculous fantasy no matter what war it was based in, by the end of the 1960's the Hollywood machine in it's entirety turned like a rabid dog on the military and it didn't change for over fifteen years. If it happened like that once to a societal foundation like the armed forces it can happen just as easily to another social pillar like the police forces.

   

You just don't get it do you? The size of the festival is irrelevant. It's the actions that have transpired that are the real crux of the matter. But given your latest deflection from the topic on hand it's pretty apparent that, you're favour of the actions of this out of control minority. But by accusing people who don't hold that point of view of having "tiny brains" shows that you don't want to or won't stand up against their less than sane demands.

Your post, makes it seem like you are overwhelmingly in favour of the "cancel culture crowd" and their outrageous demands that we, as delete our own history and alter our society to suit their their "tiny brains"?
