It was a courtesy meeting. Harper will meet with all the leaders. TweedleJack and TweedleGilles are going to vote to overthrow the government no matter what so Layton can give a Santa Claus list to Harper as long as his arm and it won't change a damned thing.

He's a rich philanthropist. I think you might be onto something. Santa Claus seems to have a limitless pool of resources available, and he doesn't even tax anyone!
As such, I suggest a new progressive tax: 0% for everyone but Santa Claus. 75% for the limitless resource guy. That should more than pay for the government's needs... As long as the NDP/Greens don't try to stop the government from selling all that new coal they bring in anyway...
