Between "everyone that questions Obama is a racist" and "it's not his fault but Harrper should apologize" you really are doing well. Did you pick this week to blow your objectivity or are things just kind of working out like that?

I hear when Harper's not reviewing Canadians travel plans, he's also restocking shelves.

Lighten up fella.. Can't you take a joke?
:D

The apology is from Health Canada. This is typical Conservatvie tactics. Blame the bureacracy.

You honestly believe any of our sitting MPs had anything to do with this?

Are you a 9/11 truther too?

You know, your nick--FAILe--is quite apt, isn't it?

OK, PArliament 101. Some MPs are cabinet ministers. If you don't know what tehya re, please look them up on Wiki. Cabinet Ministers head up various government departments. The head of Health Canada is a cabinet minister--do you see where I'm going with this?

Liberals = good, Conservatives = Bad?

First you identify it as a typical conservative strategy then go on to point out all MP's potentially do this. Which is it?

If I had a nickle every time a Liberal blamed the bureaucracy I wouldn't have to hang out with you losers...I'd be hanging with high class losers.

It is poor leadership to trot out some poor dogsbody to take the flak. It's not really a "buck stops here" attitude, is it?

I must say, I don't agree at all.

Ministers are responsible for various portfolios, often involving billions of dollars and hundreds of staff.

It's IMPOSSIBLE for ministers to watch over every single detail of their department. That's why they have managers/CEO's, etc.

I'm sure the Minister didn't go over the exact details of a health kit.

Comparatively, I don't think the Ministers in Ontario's Government can be thrust the blame for problems at Ontario Lottery or eHealth.

Like any industry, owners/politicians rely on managers to manage people. They should be held responsible and the Minister should do his/her best to correct the problem and if needed, hire new staff.

This whole concept of calling for a ministers head when there's a problem is ridiculous.

It's just political games without a hint of reality.

Still continuing the dodge I see. Didn't see much humour there--not surprising, because you've never really deomonstarted that you have a very developed sense of humour.

However, I've got better things to do than watch you squirm on a pin. It's not like it's difficult to make you look like an idiot!

I agree.

It's time for Iggy to go. He's more competent then Dion, thank god,
I mean, at least Iggy can spell/speak... but like Justin Trudeau said.
He's got the smarts, but not the wisdom.

They should get rid of Iggy and put me in charge! :D

Only if you legalize weed

Oh, that's definitely on this list, :P

"A joint in one hand and the money for the fine in the other." -paraphrasing Jean Chretien

You got my X then

You're right, I should have specified: not all Conservatives, but these Conservatives. The current batch--the Reform Conservatives. And teh reason they are more prone to it is that--as stated--they don't like government to start with. At least we can concede that much, can't we. Now they are in the position of actually being the government, and their uncomfortableness in that position is very evident.

Sure the Liberals did it, but not as much. Not because the Liberals are more ethical people than the Conservtives, but because, having been in power for some time, they realized it is a losing strategy. The public aren't going to be satisfied with the offer of some sacrifical peon. And your bureaucracy will start to work against you (which the Conseravtveis are convinced is already happeneng).

The more I read about this story the more I get pissed off that any apologies and grovelling from the politicians was made in the first place. The best explanation given so far is that the body bags are an item that gets shipped to these remote communities on a regular basis in an effort to maximize the amount of cargo per flight or truckload; winter's not too far off and supply flights are easily and frequently disrupted by bad weather to these isolated regions. So yes, the communities are going to get their fair share of anti-flu vaccines as they become available, and yes, their own medical people are getting instructions in preventative measures to prevent flu infections. And, yes, the body bags are a necessity until proper hygenic arrangements can be made for the internment of any cadavers that are resulting from flu deaths or any subsequent deaths by any OTHER causes over the course of the season and/or the course of the year.

This is showing itself to be nothing more than a "gotcha!" moment deliberately created by the Native interest groups to smear the Tories with, and of course the assholes in the Liberal party, under whom the Health Canada bureacracy would have done the exact SAME fucking thing when it came to supplying the remote areas as the Tories have, are on hand to muck-rake and exploit the situation as much as possible for their own political gain. Given that the Native "activist" establishment has always walked hand-in-hand with the Liberal party anyway it stands to reason that this entire episode is a result of their colluding together in order to create maximum negative publicity for the government.

The real trap is that the Tories didn't stand up for themselves and/or explain and defend the cargo shipment policy first. Instead they panicked under the threat of the inevitable (and completely unsupportable) charges of racism, and immediately went into grovelling mode. So +1 to the Liberals for being so effective at their trademark political connivance (it's probably just another Kinsella black-ops stunt anyway) and about -5 to the Tories for being so pathetic and falling into the snare so easily.

... and like wafer-gate, bathroom-gate, missed photo-gate or all the others..
Net substance is zero and it all depends completely on a sympathetic (sycophant)media.

Everyone should be more offended that we have to send these supplies in the first place.

Surely after all this time in Canada they're able to learn how to clean themselves properly? It's sad.

Once again Thanos shows he's just a wee bit too rational for politics. Well put.

No kidding. We give them money so what's wrong with letting them pick up a phone and order supplies? They supposidly prefer their 'chief system' even when it favours certain families over others so let them be responsible for their own communities. Then they wouldn't be at the mercy of the awful white man -- well 'cept for the river of money of course. Let their leaders deal with it when they order hand sanitizers w/alcohol and then the parents complain because the kids are drinking it. Let their leaders deal with it when they order condoms and it offends someone.

I'm sorry but Natives in this country -- as much as I want to support them -- need to deal with some of their own serious issues before anything's really going to change for them. For one thing they have to stop looking at the world like there's Natives...and then their's just a whole bunch of European white people trying to fuck with them:

"White man's medicine"....No. Just medicine accumulated after a couple thousand years by non-whites as well.
"White man's education - just trying to mess us up"...No, accumulated HUMAN education, and you're never going to be independent without it. Math is hardly 'white'.

They have to get out of this idea that there's natives and everyone else. I'm sorry but the entire North American native population - from the arctic circle to the rio grand was barely 1/2 a million when Europeans set foot on it. Their entire civilization is just a cork bobbing on a sea of humanity and history. They are not seperate. They are not different. They are not 'better' and 'their way' isn't better or they never would've jumped on a horse or traded for a musket.
