That won't help because, like with every other product on its shelves, Loblaw's bud
will be overpriced. They don't seem to comprehend the nature of pricing in a competitive market. Which is why their stores are empty of customers and revenues are going south like a duck in winter.

You've obviously never been to Loblaws in Kingston, they're always packed on the weekend.

Nope. But I've been to my local Loblaws (well, Zehr's) and it's a ghosttown. Food Basics is packed on weekends.
Heinz Ketchup (1L) = $4.49 @ Loblaws, $2.99 @ Food Basics
Wonderbread (675g) = $3.39 @ Loblaws, 2 for $2.49 @ Food Basics
Black Diamond Cheddar Cheese (460g) = $8.99 @ Loblaws, 4.44@ Food Basics

HALF PRICE!
I could go on...

I dont mind Food Basics but a lot of the time the only stuff cheaper there is processed shit!
Meat, vegetables and fruit are comparable or sometimes MORE expensive.

That's a valid point. I go to Zehr's for fresh fish/chicken/pork and specialty items (I'm a slave to the olive bar). But fruit and vegetables are definitely cheaper, and not of poorer quality, at Food Basics...here anyways.
But there's no denying the level of "busy" between the two groceries. It's got to be Zehr's pricing that's driving people to the discount grocers and the poorer quality processed foods.
Will cookies and snack food be located nearby?

Not sure what numbers you've been looking at. They seem to comprehend fairly well.
Revenues are up. Same-store sales are up for 2015. Even your article states that.

Maybe you should read it again.

Maybe you should read it again.
Everything in your article shows gains in sales.
Second sentence:
$1:
Loblaw, the country’s largest grocer, reported a disappointing rise in its supermarket division’s sales
Their financial statement says the same. Revenues are up. Nothing is going "South" as per your ill-informed opinion suggests.
Being disappointed that your sales growth wasn't as high as expected in a specific quarter doesn't equal falling revenues.

Maybe you should read it a 3rd time.
Maybe you should.

Thick, you are. Funny, it is.
