Longboarding is banned in West Vancouver.

Longboarders' run-in with West Van cops caught on camera .
These guys have filed a complaint against the cops....
get the hell off the road.
Poor little rich kids, eh?
Oh the entitlement of West Vancouverites. The richest postal code in the country. The wealth there is obscene.
andyt @ Mon Apr 14, 2014 5:42 pm
I have friends that live there. They're wealthy, but not obscenely so. While West Van may have the highest average income, I bet the guys making the obscene incomes live in Toronto and Calgary. Except Jimmy Pattison, I guess you can call him obscene. he was laughing as he talked about firing the lowest performing salesperson from his car dealerships every month. Thought that was great fun.
The reason this story is about West Vancouver is that is where the hills are. I guess longboarding isn't so big in Coquitlam is because the suburban yahoos aren't interested in anything without a motor.
Thats said, take their boards. IF they persist, throw them in jail.

WTF does that have to do with two jackholes longboarding down a street then complaining about the cops who give them a ticket?
I see you edited your post while I was responding.
Notice the one doing the yapping is a grey haired old man...lol.
Also, a side story to this is the utter dysfunction of the West Vancouver Police Department (WVPD) over the last decade:
$1:
Revelations of an after-hours social gathering at the police station, and the subsequent impaired driving arrest of a West Vancouver police constable
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Vanco ... ontroversy$1:
Heed said he was brought in as chief to clear out the so-called “old boys’ network,” and was criticized by some members of the force. He said that a department survey documented widespread abuse indicates the “network” is back at its old tricks, destroying police morale.
http://www.theprovince.com/technology/T ... story.htmlSexual harassment, racism, tons of people quitting. A terrible level of morale. Alcohol at work. This is one hell of a PD.
That being said these guys look like entitled brats and deserve their fines. But the WVPD should just be swallowed up by the VPD at this point.

Ah the trials and tribulations of first world problems.
Phhah let them board down Lonsdale Ave. or St. Georges Avenue in North Van for a real challenge.
WTF was the cop thinking for pulling into oncoming traffic?
As I see it the cop clearly is in violation of BC MVA 144(1)(b) and several instances of BC MVA 151.
Given that his actions presented a measurable danger to the longboarders he's also guilty of at least criminal negligence with intent to commit bodily harm and depending on what he knew of the event in progress and his radio messages he may have planned to cause harm which should elevate this to a felony and a violation of the civil rights of the longboarders.
Granted, they were causing a hazard, but it is not the place of the cop to possibly cause them injury or death due to a traffic violation.
Memo to the traffic managers of Van: Install some speed bumps or even just Botts Dots on that street and the problem will resolve itself.
Kids were breaking the law. Cop was being a dick. Is any of this news?

Kids in Vancouver have grey hair? With the price of RE there 50 year olds are still living in their parents basements.

I'm just trying to be fair when I observe that younger guys do tend to go for highlights in their hair the same as the girls - so these might just be some young hipsters and not some old farts out trying to recapture their glory days by breaking a hip.

Not only that, but one guy clearly says, "You have better things to do than run kids off the road in your vehicle!"
