DanSC DanSC:
I haven't watched the show, but I'd guess it's pretty boring. It's about people who pray five times a day and don't drink.

I'm also waiting for people to slam TLC for airing a show promoting religion.

Why bother slamming TLC - pretty much all their shows are crap - whether its a show about 'little people' trying to raise a family, three Mormons living together or some hillbilly with 19 kids. About the only show on TLC that I can stand is Cake Boss, and even that's getting old.

If this was a show about Muslim fanatics you'd have a point.

It's not, so you don't.

Um, I wasn't addressing the show at all. Just the dipstick's (Macguyver) comment of how he thinks, "the Muslim percentage of dangerous fanatics in the USA is way lower than the Christian percentage of dangerous fanatics."

I could give less of a damn about "All-American Muslim." But if I must make a comment, it is this: "Freedom of Association. Live with it."

Oh how memories fade. Anyone remember the UDF and IRA? Christian fanatics if I've ever heard of any. The nut job in Norway that killed all those kids was also a Christian fanatic.

I HATE TLC. My wife however loves this tripe. If I see one more cake boss I'm gonna go postal. I even tried watching this drivel and to be honest this Lowe's stunt will end up giving them pub that this stale show could only dream to generate.

On its face lowes made a PR blunder here though. Writ large the american dream is only valid if you are not one of 'them' the new black is the only message you can get from this. That will create a buzz and sustain an otherwise flop of a show. Lowes should of told this community group to cram it out their ass and pulled the plug at the end of the season by simply not renewing. Cowtowing to these nitwits that get their panties in a bunch only validates these idiots. There has to be a real reason to pull ads and they could have easily said the ratings were it. Now, not so much...

Discovery Channel is where it's at bitches!

xerxes @ Tue Dec 13, 2011 4:43 pm

I always refer to TLC as the Circus sideshow channel myself.

But this was a dumb move on Lowe's part. Why are they caving to the Florida Family Association of all groups? Not the the American Family Assoc. nor any of their clone, but the Florida version?

My guess is, like Scape mentioned, ratings were dropping and they were looking for a reason to drop the sponsorship. They just found the worst reason to however.

The 'UDF'? You mean the Ulster Volunteers? Those folks were Loyalists and anti-Republicans but no one ever accused them of being a Christian organization. And the IRA was Marxist, through and through. All you've done here is chruthú a fhios agat rud ar bith faoi na hÉireann.

Again, you're wrong.

Anders Breivik Anders Breivik:
"Regarding my personal relationship with God, I guess I'm not an excessively religious man," he writes. "I am first and foremost a man of logic. However, I am a supporter of a monocultural Christian Europe."

Breivik is mostly anti-Muslim and he supports Christian culture while not necessarily supporting or even adhering to the Christian faith.

No, he just wanted to keep Norway native.

They don't neccesarily all blow up buildings either, but hey, facts just get in the way of emotion.

But Muslims blew up more buildings that Christians in the name of their religion recent history and violence is extremely pervasive in the Muslim world. Especially if one is a kaffir, homosexual, and/or woman.

No emotion, just cold hard fact.
