True. I liked the part about getting rid of the FST.
I wonder if SpongeBooB Trudeaupants will trot out the Liberal national childcare carrot too

Chretien on the GST!
Sept. 27, 1990: "I want this tax dead.'' - Liberal Leader Jean Chretien
Oct. 29, 1990: "I am opposed to the GST. I have always been opposed to it, and I will always be opposed to it. It is a tax that is both regressive and discriminatory." - Liberal Leader Jean Chretien
Feb. 11, 1993: "I say we will replace the tax. This is a commitment. You will judge me by that. If the GST is not gone, I will have a tough time the election after that." - Liberal Leader Jean Chretien
May 2, 1994: "We hate it and we will kill it." - Prime Minister Jean Chretien
Wasn't a single off the cuff comment, the man ran with this ball for years and years.
Then he got elected and, well you know, he kinda forgot about it... and any attempts to refresh his memory resulted in a neanderthal like grunt and dismissive wave of his hand.
As I said, that was a big factor in people voting Liberal in 1993, because of that idea, voters in Conservative territory even voted for them - Edmonton for example got FOUR Liberal MPs in 1993.
The helicopters were targeted as an example of wasteful PC spending at the federal level, much like Alison Redford's $45,000 trip to South Africa was on a provincial level.

I'd rep that one if I could!
