"You don't get taken seriously as a national party if you haven't got the capacity to get elected in Quebec".That's why the Liberals are not taken seriously in Alberta! None!

this is a good question and some are starting to wonder if layton can win more seats for the ndp , especially in places like ontario which in last federal election elected 12 mp's but in last provincial election only managed to win 10 and lost a few really close ones .
the ndp for whatever reason does better in by-elections here and has won alot in previously liberal ridings but in general elections doesn't do as good .
Jack is a good man...he has some good ideas...he might surprise you.. but then I dont think he can pull of Quebec... and mtbr I thought the polls in Alberta indicate a rise in poplularity for the libs?
or is this just the CBC and the globe and mails partisan position...??

Hey, be fair. Jack's doing a pretty good job for a party that can't find 30 seconds on The National.

He's on CTV right now.
The NDP do not really want an election.....they may desire it but they certainly don't want it.
The cut and run Afghanistan policy, the pro-KYOTO policy has put them into the lunitic fringe, where the Green erode their support with the result no Green MPs and less NDP. The effectively splits the idiot vote. Idiot voter support from the LiBRANOs just evaporate in the NDP/Green maelstrom.

"We've actually had a very good year. ... Nobody would have predicted that we would have not only elected an MP not only in Quebec but in a riding (Outremont) that nobody would have given us a shot at and that we would win it with 49 per cent of the vote," he said.
Yeah Jack, about that: Your win in Outrmont had everything to do with the candidate that was running and had nothing to do with the NDP or your policies per se. If Ralph Klein ran for the Greens in Alberta I'm sure he would win with 49% of the vote.

NDP watchers wonder if Layton can deliver more
Why? Is there a chimpanzee in the Toronto Zoo who has expressed interest in the job?

Layton, and the rest of his self-righteous comrades, couldn't even properly deliver a pizza much less an NDP victory in the next election.

that is likely the case , well there only out to be an opposition party anyways, so i'm not sure what there out to accomplish in next election anyways . as they always said they wanted a minority , now they have one but say they want to see government brought down .
so they want another minority ? but one with a different government ? but why go to all the trouble if there still just going to be in 4 th party position anyways .

Bullshit. Klein for the Greens would be roundly defeated by a potato for the PCs in most ridings.
