whats with the new ad banners on this website? if you forgive me for saying this, but the image that they present has 'changed'
if this results in more clicks then i'm all for it, but it is kinda annoying.

im testing out some new ad-networks because i got screwed with Google. I'ms seeing which do the best. It is annoying that the one network im testing shows the evony ads a lot.

   

Become a gold member and you don't get any of the add banners.

And how much of the CKA operating expenses are offset by crazy banner clicking?

the current banners are not based on clicks but impressions/views. The old Google ads were based on clicks. I hope to go back to the google ads when my fracking account is unsuspended.

CKA's ad revenue has plummeted this year, it now doesn't make enough to even cover the server expenses. And people havn't donated much this year as others to help the balance. So I have to take money earned from the sale of T-shirts to pay for the servers. In june when my current server colocation contract is up I have to scale back the servers to reduce expenses.

   

well, I used the ads to sign up with the avony game. pretty cool game. but i just realized that I don't have the time for a game like that. It'll get in the way of my new years resolutions.

   

Yup. I had to 'go lookin' to find the ads peeps were/are complaining about!

   

Only wanted to point out that in the early years of CKA, it seemed like the donation link used to be more visible.

   

that is a valid point, I will have to add something to the homepage again.
