Conservatives get criticized for making such statements, the Canadian media would call them lies or broken promises!

"Not everything that we talked about during the campaign are we going to be able to do on the pace that we had hoped."

Derby would be up in arms

So the candidate whose only credential was his ability to deliver a speech is now back peddling away from what he said?
I wonder if those campaign workers ever got paid..
:D

I'm not at all surprised that Obama is welching on his promises. He literally said anything to get elected and now that he's going to be President the joke is on the fools who believed him.

$1:
"The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even in one term. But, America, I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there," he said.

Doesn't sound like he's welching on anything, more like he has to fix Dubya's fuck-ups before he can get around to what we wanted to do.

Did he just figure that out now? how insightful of him.

Did you mean it's the same as the Conservatives taking more than 3 years to fix all the Liberal fuck ups. :P

What fuck ups is Harper fixing? He adopted more Liberal proposed Policies than what he proposed.

Obama is doing what needs to be done. I suppose you would prefer if he just ignored what's happening and just went full steam ahead to fulfill his Policies regardless of Reality?

Unlike bush, Obama is able to deal with what's going on around him rather than just what he feels in his Gut. That's a big Change right there.

So what has Bush screwed up since the election? Because Obama made all these promises and kept at them all through October, didn't he?

It's only now, a few days away from his inauguration that he's decided to back track. Oh, and don't worry, us conservatives won't bug him about it. We'll be content to watch the left tear him a new rectum for not giving them a New Deal for the 21st Century.

If you can't think of any wrong with what's happened since Dubya took office and today, you must have had your head buried in the sand for the past 8 years...

What difference does that make? None. It would be nice if Todays errors never affected Tomorrow, but that's not how it works. Bush fucked up for 8 years and it's going to take a few years just to get back to normal.

Did Obama just wake up and realize what was going on or was he lying and just promising pie in the sky until the election .

He's probably worried about the Messiah image portrayed by the media.

He bought him self a big pair of boots and now he realizes he can't fill them.

It doesn't seem like the message has changed, just the wording of it. It all boils to down to one thing: a president that wants to be responsible for his country instead of a president that just wants to push buttons and see what happens while he hacks away at some brush at his ranch and hides from the consequences.
