$7500 sounds good until that first -20 night.

   

Heh ya, 7500 wont keep too many people warm in a Edmonton winter for long. At the most it will keep them huddled around the heater in one large tent.

   

In time Edmonton will get an injunction to remove those tents and heaters as well.

   

Oh, should have read the article. The park is privately owned. Oh well, enjoy your winter camping and not contributing to society like the rest of us.

   

According to the following graphic, pulled together by Accelerated Degree, 70% of Occupy Wall Street participants are employed, taking the wind out of the argument that protestors are lazy, free-riding hippies with nothing else to do. Many of the movement�s most staunch supporters go protest and occupy AFTER WORK.

No graphic and I doubt that applies to the Canadian occupiers - at least not the ones on Victoria and Vancouver.

   

Remember when people had pride in what they could accomplish?
Remember when asked to do a difficult task, people would answer, Can Do?
Remember when asked to do the impossible, people would say sure, it'll
just take a little longer?
Remember when the words can't or impossible were words people would tell you
did not exist?
Now people have the word entitlement. And feel others owe them something.
The world has gone far from the Greatest Generation to the Give Me, I can't do it
myself generation.

   

- 20! That's closer to the daytime high in January, nevermind nighttime!

   

If they continue to let their garbage and what not off the private park, I don't know how much longer they will be allowed to stay.

Also, at some point Health and Saftey may shut them down. Even $7,500 in winter tents and space heaters may not offer suitable winter protection and I highly doubt the private park owners want a death on their land.

Edit to add: Why is their always lies about the numbers...2 dozens tents my ass, I was their on Thursday...14 tents, at least 6 of which (facing east so I could see inside) were completely empty with the door flap strapped open. Approx 15 protesters milling around. 1:20pm.

   

It seems to me that these are the people who want to contribute to society.To contribute something more than the self satisfied who stay at home and prattle about their superiority.

They are the ones have decided to not "not contribute to society like the rest of us."

   

You know this how? Pop by the Victoria occupation and see how many are contributing to society.

   

What exactly are they contributing? What do they even want? Refering to someone else's post, how are these people holding down jobs, protesting all day, and camping all night?

   

Greatest generation -built the wealth
Grasshopper generation consumed it and then some
Squeezed generation -not happy about about the "and then some" part.

Whatareyagonna do.

   

Become another Great Generation.

Start with forgiving the past, hindsight makes criticism easy.

Look at what we do have and make the best of it.
