Understandable, but apparently being "Metis" made other officers become racial to him. "Give me a break!" I've worked in corrections, had civilian jobs and am currently with the Airforce (also I was in the army). Not once have I been a witness to any slander/harrassment or prejudice to any other color/race/religion/sex/etc. I've put my life on the line several times, or had the crappy end of the stick..but I never once called "wolf!" In fact when I was in Afghanistan, I meet several RCMP officers (professional in all aspects). Many of these officers often worked alone or worked with other nationalities. When or why would these officers resort to put other officers down. I won't get into how I had experience/training/eduction to become an Police Officer...but...was a white male!
Heaven forbid the pump goes outside the wire. My understanding is that RCMP officers go there to "mentor" and part of that is going out with the guys and making sure they do their jobs right.
Having just got back this past March....the RCMP do come on patrols. Some of the patrols go to where the Police have to be and then when they are done they continue with the patrol instead of going all the way back to camp.
Good job for the RCMP that do come along. They also do the odd foot patrol with the Afghans they are mentoring.
As for NOT leaving the wire as it is "beyond their job description" well, you can make up your own mind.
Maybe there was tension there because the other RCMP officers were doing HIS share of the work load too.
Isn't it a volunteer job to go there in the first place?
I'd be pretty sure they spell out what's expected of them.
Sounds like he suffers from a poor attitude and enjoys hiding behind his minority status to get what he wants. Heaven forbid that the other officers take pride in their job and actually want to give 110%.
