If it's proven in court corners were cut to limit the car's weight which became a design defect more lawsuits against Porsche could be possible along with a recall which doesn't help Volkswagen's current predicament.

   

Besides a tank I can't think of a vehicle that you can travel in where you'll survive a 80 mph crash into a light pole AND a tree. Lawyers gotta be lawyers I guess.
