You can't convince others to think the way you do anymore than they can make you think the way they do.
Accept it.
If you want to make a difference then be a positive role model to those younger than you. It's all about educating the future generations to do a better job than your generation.
I'm 40 and work with many people MUCH younger than me (like 15-20 years younger). Some have a good head on their shoulders (as it seems you do). 
Others are just scary. 
Every generation is like that.
