Considering how he backslapped much of his party when he backed C-15, the drug bill, I wonder how much trust he has with his people anyways.

Win-win for Iggy. Seems to be the only people thinking Iggy is coming off badly are the people who will say that regardless. Iggy is doing exactly what he said from day one, holding the CPC accountable and if Harper doesn't compromise then Harper will be responsible for the election and the people will hold him accountable.

 Come on!

Seems to be the only people thinking Iggy is coming off strongly are the people who will say regardless.

Once again, he cries "Wolf!" by threatening, again, to bring down the government. It's so amazingly predictable that he will back off from the sabre rattling after getting a couple of concessions. Meanwhile, the potential of another election and more political instability just does wonders for the economy!

First off the people who have been crying about Iggy "threatening" to bring down the government are the same hacks now crying that he is backpeddling.

He did what he was supposed to do and that was let Harper know if he doesn't compromise then he'll face an election. Iggy too has to compromise but the partisan hacks like riden cry that he's knuckling under whenever he gives a little to Harper. They are simply bitching because no matter what Iggy does they'll bitch. I think you know this because you seem to have little patience for ridens excessive partisan BS. Just a week ago they were all crying that Iggy was the man who wanted an election and was forcing it despite the voters not wanting one. Now they are crying that he's negotiating with Harper to avoid one.

Give me a break.

Who exactly do you think is going to say Iggy is simply folding under Harpers magnificence? The increasing number of voters who favour him?

Who do you think will call what Iggy is doing a flip-flop? All the people who still support harper despite him flopping on floor-crossers, income trusts, accountability, pandering to Quebec, appointing senators, all those promises of ice-breakers, and last but not least his pledge to absolutely not run a deficit.

Are those the people complaining that Iggy gave some ground to Harper to avoid an election less then 20% of Canadians want?

What voters do you think are going to punish Iggy for giving that ground? The ones who rewarded Chretien with 2 straight majorities and Martin a minority even after he flipped on the GST promise? Don't hold your breathe.

I don't see anybody but the people who wouldn't vote Liberal if it would save their lives complaining and they have no problem with the massive number of Harper flip-flops so I don't think Liberals or more then a hand full of swing voters will care the least about Iggy being the bigger man and staving off an election he himself was poised to win.

The public lost their stomach for wishy washy politics when Dion was party leader. Iggy needs to be more decisive.

Harper has flip-flopped on:

(short list)
Floor-crossers
Accountability
Pandering to Quebec
Political porking
Appointed senators
Income trusts
Ice-breakers (hell his entire spiel about loving the military)
fixed election dates
and lets not forget his [b]We will not run a deficit ever under any circumstance)

I doubt he has the trust of anybody but vote only conservatives like yourself.

Yet when he does he is accused of being arrogant and eliteist and just last week he was being accused of trying to force an election on Canadians who didn't want one.

That is not uncommon with minority governments. I believe that the same allegations have been made towards Harper as well.

I am glad that he flip flopped on Income Trusts. Canada was going to have 2 types of corporations: ones that pay taxes, and others that dont pay taxes.

I trust Harper more than I trust his party.

I trust Iggy more than I trust his party.

My beliefs are best represented by the CPC.

The Liberals support policies that seek to target my freedoms.(long gun registry)

There were many occasions when the government asked for help and suggestions but you guys pass that off as "helping the government". Instead they do grandstanding crap like this, just so Iggy can see himself in the news.

I posted all sorts of Liberal insider calls for an election and it's clear that their scared of the economy getting better and Harper getting credit for it. Their also scared that the "new candidate" smell on Iggy is replaced by "old white guy" and urine. His "I, I , Me Me" is really starting to show.

This wasn't a big enough of a hill for Iggy to take a stand on and now he's starting to look like Dion.

ASLplease @ Wed Jun 17, 2009 7:41 am

Hey!

If Iggy isn't flip flopping, then maybe we should see it as Iggy making demands of the CPC then giving them a passing grade.

 Frankly your insider information is as believable as surftofind.

The person who is scared of an election right now is Harper which is why he is trying his best to claim its everybody else's fault if one gets called. Its always somebody else's fault.

Difference is though that Harper is the only person who actually ignored the wishes of the voters and called an election.

yet, support grew for the CPC, and shrunk for the Liberals....something that Dion was shaking in his boots about since the begining of his short leadership.
