Your math contains elements of bigotry, making it systematically incorrect. Mine only contains elements of unbiased truth.

Can we nominate Ice Owl for the hilarious medal for this comment? 8O Oh wait, you are saying he was serious when he made this comment? 8O 8O ROTFL ROTFL Oh well, when the most difficult task he has is to say,'Welcome to Wal-Mart', his sort of intellect will suffice.

Yea, not much fodder on Iggy eh?

"Just visiting" is literally the only attack ad I have ever seen on him.

Well, no. He is talking about pensions, home care, funding for post secondary and child care while there's a $50 billion deficit. Approximately he has hidden his own brain. He is going without a platform. Also the Teutonic Harper has centralized control to the exclusion of his own Ministers and Ignatieff has not been able to land one on him for that. Finally he has himself started to dictate to his MPs. They are calling him a "patrician" in the media. The Parliament is hung, the Opposition has to prop up the government, and the two guys at top are not cutting it. It's interesting times in Canada.

Korben, if that were true, why do they hold a minority government?

You are grossly misinformed. Individually, the other parties have less support than the Conservatives, but combined they are supported by the majority of Canadians.

It's a simple math equation: The Conservatives hold 143 seats. The Liberals hold 77, the Bloc hold 47, the NDP hold 36, there are two independent seats, and three are vacant. Now, if you've passed first grade math, you shouldn't have to get out your calculator to figure out that 77 + 47 + 36 + 2 = 162 > 143.

Math - it works, bitches!

If you passed first grade math you would know that 143 seats is greater than 77 seats.

Pay attention. I will only post this once.

The tone of this thread is not acceptable. Action will be taken.

Again, this is your only warning.

And why would that be? Oh yeah...somebody voted the Conservatives in.

I can't quite follow your comment. However Mike is completely buffaloed by the fact he has no money to spend. The deficits of past and the national debt are the refusal of Canadians to pay for goods and serves provided through the government. Mike can't believe it, believe his luck. He isn't thinking, is merely performing on stage for the media. He's a noob, thinks he'll try big promises out for a style. It's painful watching him.

What a joke of a poll, all "strongly or somewhat agree", just more BS from the psychotic Leftoids who will skew anything and everything.

Why not post just the "strongly agree:, and watch what happens.

If the left is so sure, well then go ahead and force an election.. You will be properly punished. :)

Wait, are they saying that at some point in the last 30 years there HAS been a party that was IN touch with Canadians?

Really, this "news" is about as shocking as learning that politicians don't give a flying shit about us once thye've attained power.

My take on the out of touch issue is that most government in the West are run by a small inner circle with the boss being very dominant. The inner circle is very busy, maybe drunk with responsibility rather than drunk with power. I would say most of the leaders are probably out of touch with their own elected representatives. A backbench MP does not have much relation with the leader. Harper is an example, they say only a few cabinet ministers are allowed to argue with him. The backbench, none. So, yeah, the guy at top quickly becomes out of touch.

There are no other parties in the opposition?

BREAKING NEWS: Polls suggest that politicians are out of touch, lawyers are generally disliked, and taxes are too damn high.

When was the last time we had a true majority govt in Canada, ie one that got more than 50% of the popular vote?

This govt is in touch enough to maintain power for some time now. That's all it takes. Just don't tell voters the truth, they get very angry with that. And of course the govt is always in touch with you when it reaches into your pocket for your wallet. It'd be nice if they'd throw in the odd hand job with that, is all I'm saying.

GreenTiger @ Fri Jan 14, 2011 2:00 pm

I'm given to understand that The Conservative party is up in the pools, yet is out of touch the the electorate. Sounds American to me.

In touch with people's fears and hatreds for sure. Not so much the other stuff.
