Racist police. They like them young and they like them poor...

Vbeacher @ Fri Dec 01, 2017 1:56 pm

Damn those police for discriminating against criminals anyway! Leave those poor criminals alone! It's not their fault they didn't bother to finish high school, have no education and are too lazy to get jobs! It's a cultural thing! TPS are sooo culturally insensitive!

I'm with you. Time for steeper cuts to the TPS, OPP, RCMP and honest accountability. Do this before we lose all of our allies.

Desmond Cole is a cancer for the black community. Nothing he does solves any problems that plague various communities. Instead, it gets him the media attention he wants.

There is a crime problem in the black community in Toronto. You don't have to look far beyond this list:

or this:

This is just an extension of the BLM argument that police spend too much time in Black neighborhoods and too much time 'harassing' young black men. What that argument and this completely ignores is that the police spend a lot of time in Black neighborhoods because that's where the crime is (mostly against Blacks) and most of the criminals are young black men. Most of the gangs are made up of young black men too. You want the police to back off and leave them be? Fine. You get what Chicago got when police obediently stopped 'harassing' the young black men in that area.

Yeah, the police union that supports and tries to hide the beating of a kid with a metal pole that almost cost him his eye, the same union that puts the work the very next day a guy who puts 9 slugs into a kid on a bus and allow him to take calls for a victim hotline.

TPS, OPP, RCMP and CSIS (plus maybe Peel Region if you want to weed out all the corrupt riff raff), cut their budgets, demand accountability and force these agencies to get rid of bad apples, covert undercovers generating business for themselves and other trash unworthy of being in the esteemed role of police officer. I always have respected men and women who wear a uniform and honour their roles with pride and professionalism. We need more of them.

As for the bad apples, racists and predators, Eddie Haskel conmen? They can go to hell. They have made sure our allies don't trust us, and it's going to cost us a GREAT deal of business. You have my word on that.

You're not getting it either.

Police are in these communities and talking to people because of the level of crime in the black community. Asking people questions doesn't equate to harassment nor are they in these areas simply because of the colour of their skin.

The police can't win here. If they are active with community policing, it's 'harassment' and if they don't do anything, they're blamed for being absent.

BRAH @ Sat Dec 02, 2017 1:30 pm

It's easier for so called community leaders and politicians saying the police are racist and everything is their fault instead of admitting they failed the people they represent.

Again you dodge the question and erect your straw man. Nobody is talking about police leaving criminals alone so just stop saying that.

We are talking about police stopping and hassling law abiding citizens because of their race. FULL STOP.

Oh come on they’re not simply “asking questions”. It’s not “Hi friends, have you seen any crimes I should be aware of?” They’re stopping law abiding citizens and conducting sidewalk interrogations taking down their name, addresses, ask where they’re going, who their friends and family are and they’re keeping it in a database. A lot of it isn’t even accurate to boot.

Community policing is about PARTNERING with members of the community and coming up with strategies and solutions TOGETHER. Unilaterally imposing a policing strategy whether the community members like it or not and accusing anyone who complains of being a criminal is not community policing it’s authoritarianism. Imagine an authoritarian police state where the chief said “The police can't win here. If we are active with community policing, it's 'harassment' and if eedon't do anything, we’re blamed for being absent.” It’s a false argument to claim it must only be one or other.
